Gold, silver,
bronze and precious stones inspired the creation of fine jewelry, a creative
expression of human intelligence.
Through the ages, Greek goldsmiths have estab- lished an exceptionally unique
presence in the history of fine jewelry, evident across the Mediterra- nean,
spanning through the Archaic, Classical, Hellenistic and Byzantine eras of
Greece. The indestructible nature of fine jewelry exudes -like qualities, a
timelessness that surpasses the ages of style and trend. The Konstantino style
emerged from the roots of these traditions, paving the way for its own unique
style, one re-defining the blueprint of the classical Greek identity.
about-image-2
1958: Birth of a legend
Konstantino was born in Filiadona, a small village outside Athens where the
Ancient city of Melitea once stood. There he watched his father closely as he
worked on the farm, building machines and tools of his own. Here Konstantino
developed a great appre- ciation for the art of hand craftsmanship.
about-image-3
1978: A musical influence
Following his love for music, the young Konstantino became a disc jockey in the
city of Athens, playing everything from Carlos Santana to Lou Reed. These icons
and many more, inspired a stylistic fluidity that introduced an essence of glam
rock to the scene. By way of music, Konstantino began curating his own aesthetic
identity, as a creative mind and style icon. Where, these legends continue to
influence the rule breaking spirit that drives the design team at Konstantino to
this day.
about-image-4
1983: Jewelry saved my life
Konstantino fled the music scene of Athens in search of an oasis, he took a trip
to the island of Hydra where he lived for the next 15 years. It was on this
magical island, where Konstantino fell in love with jewelry. He began collecting
and curating jewelry, whereby in 1988 the first Konstantino store opened.
about-image-2
1991: Annette
Hydra is not only the birthplace of Konstantinos love for Jewelry but was also
where he met his soon to be wife and creative partner, Annette. Together, from
the ground up, Konstantino Jewelry soon estab- lished its presence in the US and
global market.
about-image-6
1998: Global Impact
As the admiration and craze for Konstantino spread, the dream continued to grow,
where now our designs can be found in 10 countries globally. With the addition
of a longstanding presence in Neimans, Sax, etc. etc. Konstantino is proud to
represent an evolution of the Greek style to the world of fine jewel- ry lovers.
about-image-7
2016: A Family Future
Konstantino and Annette’s children, Julian and Phaedra joined the team, further
continuing the legacy of love, risk, and passion for gold smithery and design.
This new generation leads with humility, knowledge and a natural instinct for
the dynamic of the Konstantino brand. Preserving the core philoso- phies of the
brand and expanding on its already established style, is a challenge that’s been
taken on with confidence.

6.25" Harry Morgan Navajo silver Bisbee turquoise cuff bracelet No issues, solid sterling, weight and measurements in pictures. Morgan, Harry Biography Harry Morgan is known for his classic revival style jewelry with its smooth, soft, antique finishes and classic design. He is a fifth-generation silversmith. Born and raised on the Navajo Reservation in Arizona, Harry Morgan began casting jewelry at age seven. His mother Louise inspired him to make jewelry in the old style. The Navajo Tribe offered him a four-year scholarship in engineering, but being a rodeo cowboy was his dream, at the time. He ultimately returned to his passion for silversmithing, and became a silversmith in 1965. He spent most of his life in the Gallup, NM area, and at one point opened a jewelry supply store in Crownpoint, NM. He also operated a smithing studio, and employed many smiths who would also emulate the classic revival style. One of those employed was well-known silversmith Kirk Smith. Many of Harry Morgans stamps were inherited from his parents and uncle, or made by him. Harry Morgan was married to Navajo silversmith Betty Joe, and is the nephew of accomplished silversmiths Charlie Bitsue and Ike Wilson. Brother Henry Morgan is known for his exceptional sandcast pieces. Linda Marble, his sister, was also known for her sandcast pieces. She passed away in 2004. Of his five children, three have taken up silversmithing. Harry Morgan won awards at every major Indian art show, and had an exhibit of his creations at the Heard Museum in 2007, a year before he passed way.

Dragonflies, butterflies, hummingbirds, flowers of any type, whorls and stems all contribute to the overall finished piece. He lives in Gallup, New Mexico with his wife and children. 1 en stock

6.25" Marc Antia Apache 14k/Sterling Azurite cuff bracelet, clean with no damage or significant wear. Weight and mearements in pics. Part Apache and part German, artist Marc Antia is a self-taught silversmith that has being making jewelry for decades. When he isnt masterfully working on new pieces, he travels across the United States to display his work at Native American jewelry and craft shows. Marc has created a following for his elaborate stamped jewelry. He often combines sterling silver and 14k gold to make pendants, rings, and cuffs. Despite the formality presented by his use of gold in Marcs jewelry, the durability of his pieces is apparent; upon wearing, one immediately knows this is something that can take the abuse of a daily wear. And yet, they are surprisingly lightweight. One well-versed in Native American jewelry might notice that the traditional Navajo stamp style seen in Marcs jewelry is liken to a fellow Native American artists work: Emerson Bill. This is no coincidence, as both artists learned the ways of their trade together. This occurred in their salad days, and they grew to be close friends. Marcs work can be distinguished from Emersons by his addition of extra embellishments and flourishes in his stamp work. His classic stamping on his gold and silver jewelry make Marcs work wearable with just about any outfit or color scheme, let alone that it works incredibly well with other Native American handmade jewelry pieces. While still formal and ornate, Marcs work also reflects humility in both its function and its roots in traditional technique.

6.25" Mark Chee (1914-1981) Navajo silver cuff bracelet with turquoise. Unmarked, attributed.. I am extremely confident that this is Mark Chee's work, it is obviously an old bracelet, circa mid 20th century. The stampings, the clean bezels around the abstract natural stones, the back, overall design, everything about it is indicative of Mark Chee's work.

Mark Chee (1914-1981) Biography
Navajo artist, Mark Chee is among the earliest southwest silversmiths. Mark Chee is known for traditional stamp work and high quality stone settings in unusually heavy silver. He was born in Lukachukai, Arizona around 1900 and was sent to government school at Fort Defiance (a United States government practice during that time) from the age of 10 to the 11thgrade. He is the elder brother of Joe Chee.

He was active during the 1930s through ‘60s. He specialized in heavy silver in old style designs. He began polishing silver in Julius Gans’ Southwest Art and Crafts shop in Santa Fe for $5.00 a week. He then bought a few tools and used them all his life. He quickly became an accomplished silversmith and was hired as a bench smith at Frank Patania’s Thunderbird Shop and later at Al Packard’s shop on the Santa Fe Plaza. He was also a bench-smith for the Wooden Indian at Embudo, New Mexico.

Marked or unmarked as shown in pics, weight and other measurements in pics. A Native American jewelry piece referred to as "silver" or "ingot" is guaranteed to be at least 90% silver. I rarely use the word "sterling" when referring to older Native American silver or really any older silver jewelry as silver contents vary and "sterling" is 92.5% silver. No older jewelry is going to be exactly 92.5% silver, some a little over, some a little under. It wasn't an exact thing with handmade jewelry. I've seen thousands of pieces xrf'd to prove this. Bracelets are photographed on a 6" women's wrist.

6.25" Ric Charlie Navajo sterling tufa cast cuff bracelet with spiderweb turquoise.Ric Charlie is an accomplished, self-taught Navajo goldsmith who has gained international acclaim for his tufa-cast jewelry. The texture and fine lines he achieves by carving in tufa stone, combined with colorful patinas and semiprecious stones, define Ric Charlie’s work. For nearly three decades, Ric has been drawing upon traditional Navajo techniques while pushing the boundaries to stay on the cutting edge of jewelry design.Charlie's love of color draws him away from the turquoise commonly found in Southwestern jewelry. He instead favors the gold, rust, red, purple, blue, and green patinas he achieves by adding liver of sulfur to the silver. The fine lines in his jewelry are accomplished by cutting tufa stones (compressed volcanic rock) with dental tools.Ric learned basic jewelry-making techniques in 1973 when he was in high school. He studied jewelry-making and design in college at Arizona State University and University of Arizona, and went on to teach himself tufa casting after being inspired by the work of Preston Monongye and Charles Loloma.“Sandcasting is a pretty difficult medium,” Ric Charlie says. “But for me it’s second nature. Everything I do is cast, and 99 percent of them are one-of-a-kind.”In 1983, Ric helped to design and construct the staff and medallion used by the president of Arizona State University.Today, Ric Charlie teaches and advises Native artists in his unique tufa-casting methods, while still producing top-of-the-line work for galleries and collectors around the world. No disponible en stock

6.25" Richard Chavez Santo Domingo coral/turquoise sterling silver cuff bracelet. . Weight and measurements in pictures. Tested and guaranteed solid sterling silver. No damage or issues. Vintage bracelet in very good vintage condition. Richard Chavez was born and raised in San Felipe Pueblo, one of the more conservative and traditional Pueblos of New Mexico. San Felipe Pueblo holds the distinction of being one of the only Pueblo communities located alongside the Rio Grande River. In the Early 70s, Richard worked as an architectural draftsman for Harvey S. Hoshour, A.I.A. Mr. Hoshour came to Albuquerque, New Mexico after working for the Bauhaus architect Mies Van de Rohe. The Bauhaus philosophy emphasized the principles of purity, sparseness, and balance that later influenced the designs by which Richards jewelry would become known. During Richards employment in Mr. Hoshours firm, he also attended the University of New Mexicos School of Architecture. It was at that time he began experimenting in metal fabrication and designing jewelry to supplement his income. Richard left his architectural studies and employment in 1976 to become a full-time jeweler. What started as a means to supplant his studies and part-time employment has become a thirty-two year career. From start to finish, each piece of jewelry involves many steps; beginning with sketches to determine certain designs, followed by soldering, sanding, cutting, polishing and the lapidary process. Each step is done entirely by Richard, with the lapidary process being the most intensive. This time-consuming labor of love begins with Richard buying only the best raw materials which he then cuts to become part of his signature designs set into a silver or gold frame. Every stone is cut rough, ground into a shape and polished before it is even set into place. Each stone requires a minimum of ten steps before it is ready for final polishing and setting. Name recognition has come from the high standards Richard sets for his jewelry designs. His work has received numerous awards since his first competition in 1976. Yet in 1990, Richard stopped entering juried competitions, feeling he no longer required competitive validation. Instead, he finds the positive reactions and comments from the public and his esteemed clientele to be more gratifying than any award he could receive.

Richard Tsosie Navajo Silver cuff bracelet with high grade turquoise and pearl.

Richard is perhaps best known for his distinctive textured silver designs. His trademark techniqie of granulation was discovered by accident when he noticed silver filings were fusing onto a ring he was soldering. He calls the process which produces this granulated surface texture “reticulation,” and he has been perfecting the technique throughout his career.

Born in 1956, Richard has been a jeweler since the mid 1970s. He learned jewelry making from his brother Boyd and from Kenneth Begay at Navajo Community College in Arizona. He quickly progressed from basic tasks of cutting and polishing stones to the more complex process of inlay.

Richard’s contemporary silver and hold work features the use of fabrication, overlay, and granulation. He is also known for colorful inlay work with a variety of natural stones and for his fine degree of control and attention to detail. His designs are motivated by images of the natural world, particularly the Wide Ruins area of the reservation where he spent a large part of his youth. Richard says of his work, “I am inspired by the colors of the mountains at sunset, the patterns of shadow and light that emerge at dawn, and the pinpoints of starlight against the black night sky.”

His pieces typically contain the symbol for lighting and an arrow pattern. The lightning stands for natural causes, while the arrowhead symbolizes man-made elements. Richard says the design represents the ups and downs of life. “Some things we can’t do anything about and you should try to enjoy life to the fullest.”

6.25" Roger Skeet Jr Navajo sterling cuff bracelet. Weight and measurements in pics. Roger Skeet, Jr. was born December 7, 1933 in Vanderwagon, New Mexico. Roger, Jr. learned his silversmith skills from his father, Roger Skeet, Sr. He was the oldest of eight children and chosen by his father to stay home to help his father with his silver work. Therefore, he never had the traditional education his siblings had. His apprenticeship began at the age of eight and he worked with his father until his death in 1959. He once said, “I would like to have gone to school and served my people on the Tribal Council. Roger Skeets Jr. still uses some of the same stamps of his fathers in his work today, a wonderful piece of Navajo silver history. He became known for his stamp work on concho belts. He has made thousands of these belts, a tradition started by his father, Roger Skeet Sr., who was one of C.G. Wallaces frequently used smiths. He began using the hallmark RS in about 1950. Roger is in his 70s and retired in as much as he no longer takes orders, but does silver work when he wants. All precious metals are tested and guaranteed. It wasn‘t an exact thing with handmade jewelry. I‘ve seen thousands of pieces xrf‘d to prove this. Bracelets are photographed on a 6" women‘s wrist.
