His unique heavy metal work style and<br>delicate inlay earned him a reputation as a master jeweler.<br><br>His work is a combination of strength and delicacy. The most common reaction<br>when people first pick up a piece of his work is to comment on the weight of the<br>jewelry. It feels substantial. It is inlaid with precision and color awareness,<br>marking it as King's alone. King was particular about his work, refusing to<br>hurry a piece and willing to melt it down if unsatisfied with the result. Every<br>piece is hand-built and finished.<br><br>He lived and worked just off the northern edge of the Navajo reservation near<br>Farmington, New Mexico. In 1918, the family founded Primavera Designs and by 1921 it<br>had become the largest jewelry company in the Abruzzo region.<br><br>It was there that the family became well known throughout the region for their<br>ability to design and make jewelry for royalty and wealthy families. Often one<br>of the Primavera jewelry artisans would go directly into the home of a patron to<br>design and reproduce a cherished object of art into jewelry.<br><br>This continued in Italy until 1934, when Mr. Victor Primavera, Sr. immigrated to<br>the United States and incorporated his company in Rhode Island; the jewelry<br>capital of the United States. Primavera Designs now had a United States<br>division, known as Danecraft, with a small factory and Mr. Victor Primavera, Sr.<br>heading up the design and model making teams.<br><br>His forte in designing product was always timeliness. He often said that it was<br>easy to design a piece to be shown in a museum, but it took research and talent<br>to design product that would be worn by a woman with fashion sense.<br><br>Although the candlelight has been replaced by fluorescent light and some of the<br>painstaking handwork has been supplemented by modern machinery, the rich and<br>beautiful handcrafted look of distinction continues.<br><br>Since 1934, Danecraft has been privately owned and operated by the Primavera<br>family.

Fits up to a 6.5" wrist, 1" gap 126.8 grams with no issues.Spratling, an architect and artist who taught at Tulane University in New Orleans, came to Mexico in the late 1920s and settled in the city of Taxco. Having developed an interest in Mesoamerican archaeology and culture from his colleagues at Tulane, he traveled to Mexico for several summers lecturing and exploring. He sought out remote villages in the state of Guerrero, 110 miles from Mexico City, where in some places Nahuatl, the Aztec language, was spoken. Spratling collected artifacts and contemporary indigenous crafts.Spratling made a fortune manufacturing and designing silver, but his true life's work was to conserve, redeem, and interpret the ancient culture of his adopted country. This bracelet came from a significant collection of c1970's Native American jewelry. There was nothing extremely old in the collection and also nothing modern. While I don't know the story on the formation of the collection, my hypothesis is it was formed on a vacation or two to New Mexico during the 70's. All of the items were high quality. While anyone with eyes can see this is amazing, this bracelet would not have broke the bank in the 70's. It would have been appreciated at the time, but a very small fraction of the appreciation it would receive today. There were other pieces in this collection from the same era with values in excess of 10k, there were 5 Preston Monongye bracelets in theis collection.This bracelet has no artisan or purity markings whatsoever which would be appropriate for the early to mid 70's when i believe this bracelet was made. I believe it was made before the rarity of the stones was understood. Obviously it's a well made bracelet with obviously beautiful stones. I feel less than half of the artisan's of this period were marking their work.I was born in 1975, I didn't mine these stones, nor have I owned any other Lander Blue that I know of as it's extremely rare. It's the type of thing you could look your whole life for and never find. I have compared it to other stones I have including Chinese Hubei spiderweb turquoise which wasn't introduced to the US until the 80's. It's significantly different. I have ran this by some people which a lot more experience than me, people that have had/seen Lander Blue in person and the consensus was it's Lander Blue.
