1930's Yale Town Padlock From Mount Royal Hotel Baltimore MD with Room key and Tag. This is a cool set I'm certain it's been together since it's beginning. The lock works with the key inside it. This was likely Hotel property as. The Mount Royal Hotel and Apartments were designed in 1899 by the well-respected Baltimore architect, Edward H. Glidden. The Neo-Italian Renaissance style buildings were constructed in early 1900; the 103 East Mount Royal Avenue building served as an upscale hotel and the 101 East Mount Royal Avenue building contained all upscale apartments. Centered in the rich artistic and cultural life concentrated in the then city’s center, Mount Vernon, Baltimore, The Mount Royal Hotel and Apartments were a very desirable place to visit as a hotel guest, or to live in as a resident of the apartments. Once the Pennsylvania Train Station was completed in 1911, The Mount Royal’s appeal only increased, as the property’s location attracted daily commuters to and from Washington, DC. Even in 1911, the train ride from Penn Station to Union Station was just 40 minutes. b12
