Anthony Lovato Santo Domingo Tufa Cast sterling silver and turquoise pendant/pin. Selling the pendant shown, circa last quarter of the 20th century. Tested and guaranteed solid sterling silver with weight and measurements in the photos.

Anthony Lovato a fifth generation Santo Domingo resident, and is the son of Mary Coriz Lovato, and grandson of Santiago Leo Coriz. He was born on July 5, 1958. Anthony’s fabricates jewelry using the tufa-cast technique.

Anthony’s mother, Mary, raised Anthony and his four brothers to become accomplished silversmiths. Most of Anthony’s knowledge came from his grandfather, Leo Coriz, who was accomplished in tufa-casting.

Anthony creates bracelets, pendants, necklaces, and hollow-ware jars using this method. He has received numerous awards or his work.

Anthony’s brother, Isaac Coriz, and his sister, Mary Frances Coriz, are also a well-known silversmiths. Anthony’s sons, Cordell Pajarito and Joel Pajarito are also well known silversmiths.

Duane is the recipient of numerous awards including Judge’s Choice at the University of San Diego Show in 2003; Best of Division at the American Indian Art Festival and Market (Dallas, Texas) in 2003; and Best in Division at the Southwest Native American Promotions Show (Fountain Hills, Arizona) in 2002.
