In 1880 the Margarete Steiff Company was established, the Elephant (as a pincushion ) was created to that time and later it became the first stuffed animal and toy to bear the trademark name "Steiff".At the 100 Year anniversary of the company a museum was opened showing all the wonderful old toys Steiff once created.
