(Born circa 1950) Phillip Honanie‘s two brothers are also talented Hopi artists, Watson and Delbridge Honanie. Phillip began making jewelry in 1967, using a pair of crescents for his hallmark, a Hopi sign for friendship.
Phillip‘s overlay designs are in stark contrast to his highly oxidized backgrounds, lending drama to his subjects.
Unfortunately Phillip has been unable to produce jewelry since the early 2000‘s as a consequence of severe health issues, he passed away in 2017.
