No cracks, chips, or other issues. tw78 Erickson Glassworks Bremen, Ohio 1943-1961 Established by Carl Erickson in Bremen, Ohio (1943-1961) produced world famous handmade art glass. Carl Erickson and his brother Stephen, Swedish immigrants from Reijmre, Sweden, a famous glass center, descended from master glass blowers. Carl learned his trade at Pairpoint Manufacturing Company in New Bedford, Massachusetts where he worked for 20 years. From there in 1932, he went to Libby Glass in Toledo for four years, then a brief stay in Hollywood where he designed the chandelier for Greta Garbo's "Camille". The Blenko Glass Company in Milton, West Virginia hired him as a designer and teacher of apprentices. In 1943 Carl and Stephen Erickson bought a defunct glass factory in Bremen, Ohio. Erickson's glass patents involved what he called a "flame design" . His trademark was the extensive use of controlled bubble design which was incorporated in a heavy glass ball which served as a base for many different pieces. Carl Erickson personally designed most of the pieces manufactured at his glass works. His honors include: U.S. Parks Commission chose him to blow the first piece of glass at "Glass House Point" near Jamestown, Virginia commemorating the first U.S. glass factory The Museum of Modern Art, New York - award for good design Smithsonian Institute of Washington, D.C. commissioned him to duplicate complex old glass fixtures. This piece came from the estate of one of the Head Executives of I think most of<br>Asian Motorola which is headquartered out of Chicago where Grace Lai was from.<br>She was most likely flown to Asia, I believe this is the Beijing Building, for<br>this comission. It measures 23"x 30". It was rolled up at one point so I will<br>likely roll it up for shipping but not too tightly unless the buyer has a major<br>objection to that. NO issues with painting.<br><br>Grace Lai painted downtown Chicago in concrete and steel bloom, for two decades<br>producing vibrant montages of skyline-shaping buildings as they climbed.<br><br>An "on-site" artist who didn't seriously take up painting until nearly 60, Mrs.<br>Lai donned a hard hat and was unafraid to board construction elevators for rides<br>high into the sky to complete her work. In winter she'd wrap herself in plastic<br>garbage bags and substitute rubbing alcohol for water in her paints, so they<br>wouldn't freeze.<br><br>"She just really captured the essence of the dynamic nature of construction,"<br>said Tom Broderick, executive director of the Construction Safety Council in<br>Hillside, which has about 100 of Mrs. Lai's paintings on display. "The craft<br>workers will feel the loss of Grace. She really cared about the industry and the<br>people who worked in it."<br><br>Until her husband, Harry, died in 1985, Mrs. Lai was essentially an artist's<br>assistant. He maintained a studio on Kinzie Street in the building that now<br>houses Harry Caray's restaurant, producing signs that graced everything from<br>theater marquees to train stations.<br><br>He was also a fine artist, and on every wedding anniversary, which fell on<br>Valentine's Day, he gave his wife a painting of a rose.<br><br>Mrs. Lai did prep work and handled the books at her husband's business. Working in<br>watercolor or pen and ink, she became a familiar sight at construction projects<br>around town. Laborers stopped by to chat with the gregarious artist, asking if<br>they had been sketched in that day, sometimes buying work that bore their<br>likeness.<br><br>In addition to her work on display at the headquarters of the Construction<br>Safety Council, a longtime patron, Mrs. Lai's paintings are part of the<br>corporate collection at BP (formerly Amoco) and Northwestern Memorial Hospital,<br>her son said.<br><br>The daughter of immigrants from the Chinese region of Canton, the former Grace<br>Lee moved frequently in her youth as her family followed her father's various<br>restaurants. Walt Glass Pottery(1943-2016) McQueeney San Antonio Texas Blue Red Drip Pitcher and Goblet Set. The pitcher is signed, the goblets aren't. All made by Walt Glass, all from same estate. Pitcher is 7.5" tall, goblets average about 7.25" tall. After finding his artistic passion in creating beautiful, handmade, one of a kind pottery, Walt and Cynthia opened their shop, Village Gallery, in San Antonio's historic La Villita and a production studio in McQueeney, Texas. He and Cynthia loved participating in craft fairs around the country with a special fondness for the "Starving Artists Show" along the San Antonio River Walk and La Villita. They enjoyed a successful artistic venture for over forty years and their pottery has been appreciated across the globe. His unique pottery was collected by dignitaries from around the world, including the Queen of England, Ronald Reagan, and other notables, as well as being featured by San Antonio's sister city in Japan. At UT, she was a member of Pi Beta Phi sorority. Later, she studied at Corcoran Gallery in Washington, DC and the Arts Students League in New York City. A life-long Francophile, in July of 1956, she made the first of many trips to Europe, this initial journey on the venerable Queen Elizabeth. Foree always had an artistic bent. At various times, she was a painter, clothes designer, and interior decorator. Her greatest success, however, came as a jewelry manufacturer when she started a company in 1987 called Medalias by Foree Hunsicker. At one time employing nearly fifty people, Medalias specialized in luggage tag jewelry, reproducing in sterling silver a wide variety of Victorian-era luggage tags and fashioning them into earrings, necklaces, and other accessories. A fixture for many years in the North Texas design world and at the Apparel Mart, Foree was honored with a Dallas Fashion Award in 1995.

Incredible, rare, imposing figure that will liven up anywhere it is. Very heavy, will be a challenging packing and shipping job that i'm confident I'm capable of. It will take me hours but it will be done right and get there how it leaves here. Franz Bergman was an Austrian entrepreneur best known for his Viennese foundry which produced many patina- and cold-painted bronze sculptures of figures, animals, Orientalist scenes, and mythological creatures. Bergman is often misidentified as a sculptor, but he himself was not the original artist for the works—rather, he hired many anonymous sculptors to execute his ideas. He signed many of the works produced by his foundry with the pseudonym Nam Greb, so as to conceal his name from the authorities and avoid penalties for immorality. Born in 1861 in Vienna, Austria, he initially inherited a bronze factory from his father and later opened his own foundry. Bergman died in 1936 in Vienna, Austria
