A Native American jewelry piece referred to as "silver" or "ingot" is guaranteed to be at least 90% silver. I rarely use the word "sterling" when referring to older Native American silver or really any older silver jewelry as silver contents vary and "sterling" is 92.5% silver. No older jewelry is going to be exactly 92.5% silver, some a little over, some a little under. It wasn‘t an exact thing with handmade jewelry. I‘ve seen thousands of pieces xrf‘d to prove this. Karl Heinz Stittgen (1930 - 2023) 18k/Sterling chrysocolla pendant/necklace. 28" necklace, solid 18k gold slab at the top of the bezel/pendant. I know it didn‘t photograph well due to contrasts and time limitations but it‘s great. No issues, weights and measurements in pics. STITTGEN, Karl Heinz 1930 - 2023 Karl Stittgen emigrated from Germany in the early 1950s and established himself as a prominent jeweller and watchmaker in West Vancouver. His creations soon gained global recognition and consequently he opened additional Stittgen stores in Calgary, New York and San Francisco. In his golden years, he trained many Master Goldsmiths who carry on his traditions and techniques today. Karl Stittgens profound impact on both local and international jewellery design was honoured in 2009, when he received the Creative Achievement Award of Distinction at the 5th annual British Columbia Creative Achievement Awards for Applied Art and Design. Karl was born in Bad Durkheim, Germany, and emigrated to Canada in 1952 at the age of 21. Although trained as a watchmaker, his creative urge led him to try his hand at jewelry making, where he gained the confidence of a loyal clientele drawn to his discerning eye for design. His reputation soon spread globally, and he expanded with stores in Calgary, New York, and San Francisco. Karl‘s loyal clients, recognizing his sense of style, taste, and precision, convinced him to design and furnish the unique homes of a very select few. Karl‘s first wife, Gabrielle Pontoppidan, whom he married in 1961, admired and supported these forays into new areas of creative work. Karl‘s second wife, Nora Sasaki, was a talented artist who complemented his vision and unique creative style. Together, they designed and built an exquisite architectural landmark home, "Halcyon Days," on Pender Island. The home reflected Karl‘s admiration for Frank Lloyd Wright in every detail. Both Karl and Nora took great delight in hosting many different creative people on the island and visitors from all over the world, entertaining them with a feast for all senses in their home. They were also renowned for their generosity towards the artistic community on Pender Island and beyond. Well into his eighties, Karl began working in the new medium of ceramics. His studio was a place where he cultivated imagination and had the incredible self-assurance to traverse new and uncharted territory. To see his creations, free in form but precise in construction, was to be in the presence of genius. Karl‘s childhood was difficult, bereft of encouragement to explore or parental affection and support. This may have forged Karl‘s inner strength and determination to become his own person strong in creative conviction with the courage to try the unthinkable. How else would a person move from being a watchmaker to a celebrated jeweler, to an architectural designer, and finally taking creativity literally back into his hands as an acclaimed ceramicist? Karl‘s creative trajectory was only possible because, as he often mentioned, he left Germany to live in Canada where he felt free to tread new terrain without formal training. In September 2009, Karl received the B.C. Creative Achievement Award of Distinction in Vancouver. He was selected for his "profound and lasting impact on applied art and design in British Columbia" and for a "lifetime of creative vision and innovation." His designs were largely inspired by organic sculptural forms found in nature. His exquisite jewelry received much critical acclaim during what some have called the golden age of design in Vancouver. Born on the Acoma Reservation, Wolf Robe was the son of Chief Day Break (Edward Proctor Hunt), Chief of the Delight Makers -- a man instrumental in the improvement of relations between the Acomas and whites. His mother, Morning Star, whose own father was Governor of Acoma seven times, was a potter and weaver. Wolf Robe learned silver-smithing from his older brother on the reservation. Wolf Robe achieved recovnition and fame for his jewelry and art work, winning the prestigious Philbrook Art Center's Grand Award in 1967. In addition, he was a businessman, with his own arts and crafts store in Tulsa, a lecturer, international traveller, author, and translator for the Bureau of American Ethnology. He assited L. A. White in his extensive studies of the Acoma Indians and made recordings for the National Anthropological Archives. Wolf Robe was particularly interested in the preservation of tribal customs, language and culture, and devoted his own time to this and the encouragement of others in similar efforts. Of his work at BAE he said, "My work there as an interpreter is the highlight of my efforts in trying to preseve all of the rich and wholesome lore of my people."* Not only was the preservation of the 'old ways' important to Wolf Robe, but also the representation and dissemination of his culture to whites, in an effort to promote their understanding and appreciation. 18" Konstantino 18k gold and sterling station necklace

18" Konstantino 18k gold and sterling station necklace 18" long 21.5 grams, clean with no issues. Center parts are 18k gold on one side and 18k gold on toggle.Konstantino was born in Filiadona, a small village located in the heart of Greece, where the Ancient city of Melitea once stood. There, he watched his father closely as he worked on the farm, building machines and tools of his own, developing a great appreciation for the art of hand craftsmanship, history and archaeology. As a young boy, Konstantino would uncover broken ancient ceramics, coins and marbles in the fields, sparking a profound connection to his heritage.1978: A musical influence Following his love for music, Konstantino became a disc jockey in the city of Athens, collecting everything from jazz, blues and rock ‘n roll, to folk music from around the globe. Musical legends and artists inspired a stylistic fluidity that introduced an essence of glam rock to the scene. Konstantino began curating his own aesthetic identity as a creative mind, artist and style icon. Influencing what would become the rule breaking spirit that drives the design team at Konstantino to this day.1983: Jewelry saved my life Konstantino fled the music scene of Athens in search of an oasis, he took a weekend trip to the island of Hydra where he ended up living for the next 15 years. It was on this magical island that he fell in love with jewelry, collecting and curating collections of his own, whereby in 1988 the first Konstantino store opened.1991: Annette Hydra is not only the birthplace of Konstantino’s love for Jewelry but is also where Konstantino met his soon to be wife and creative partner, Annette. Together, from the ground up, Konstantino Jewelry soon established its presence in the United States and global market.1998: Global Impact As the admiration and desire for the Konstantino brand spread, the dream continued to grow, where now our designs can be found in many countries globally. With the addition of a longstanding presence in stores across the United States, Konstantino is honored to represent an evolution of the Grecian style, to the world of fine jewelry lovers.2016: A Family Future Konstantino and Annette’s children, Julian and Phaedra joined the team, further continuing the legacy of passion and risk for the craft of gold smithery and design. This new generation leads with knowledge, humility and a natural instinct for the dynamic of the Konstantino brand. Preserving the brand’s core philosophies and expanding on its already established style, is a challenge that’s been taken on with confidence.

No older jewelry is going to be exactly 92.5% silver, some a little over, some a little under. It wasn't an exact thing with handmade jewelry. I've seen thousands of pieces xrf'd to prove this. 16" Georg Jensen 1 Art Deco Sterling Choker necklace

    1 in stock

    16" Georg Jensen 1 Art Deco Sterling Choker necklace 5/8" wide x 56 grams. No issues whatsoever.Georg Jensen, (born August 31, 1866, Raadvad, Denmark—died October 2, 1935,
Copenhagen), Danish silversmith and designer who achieved international
prominence for his commercial application of modern metal design. The simple
elegance of his works and their emphasis on fine craftsmanship, hallmarks of
Jensen’s products, are recognized around the world.

Jensen was apprenticed to a goldsmith at age 14. His artistic talents were
briefly focused on sculpture, but he returned to metalwork, primarily jewelry
and silver pieces, produced in the workshop he opened in Copenhagen in 1904.
Jensen exhibited his works at several major foreign exhibitions (winning a gold
medal at the Brussels Exhibition of 1910) and quickly built a reputation as an
outstanding and highly original silversmith. He moved to a larger workshop in
1912 and acquired his first factory building in 1919.

Jensen’s silverware achieved immediate popularity and commercial success. He
was, in fact, the first silver maker to realize a profit from the manufacture of
modern silver. Until Jensen’s time virtually all successful silverware producers
had relied on a standard repertory of popular traditional designs. Jensen,
however, found that the market for his sleek, simple pieces was larger than
anyone had predicted. His firm grew rapidly, expanding throughout Europe and
opening branches in London and New York City. On both continents Jensen’s work
set trends for contemporary tableware. He was among the first designers to
fashion steel—formerly considered fit only for low-quality, inexpensive
flatware—into handsome, serviceable cutlery.

Danny Romero Yaqui (1954-2018) 14k Gold Diamond, Tanzanite, Opal, sugilite, coral, boulder opal, and lapis necklace. Measurements in pics, accompanied with 2013 reciept. Still in like new condition with no damage or detectable wear. Please keep in mind that in 2013 gold averaged 1/2 the price it currently is so did the other top grade materials used to make this, not to mention a deceased artists talent and time. Also It seems this dealer sells secondary market items, so I believe this 7k was a used price in 2013 as it's really not a lot of money for this necklace now and wasn't then. 18.5" long Danny Romero 1954-2018 Danny Romero is of both Yaqui and Spanish heritage. He creates jewelry and paintings from his home in New Mexico. Growing up in Douglas, Arizona, he has been working with stone and silver for over 20 years. "I like E.S. Curtis photographs," he says, referring to the famous turn-of-the-century photographer and ethnographer who documented more than 80 Native American tribes. "I go through magazines. I've done drawings and I paint". He was one of five silversmiths invited to the Night of the First Americans at the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C., and he has had showings of his jewelry in galleries and museums in many parts of the country as well as in Germany, Japan, and Canada. Danny Romero is no longer producing jewelry. The jewelry we have was made by Danny Romero circa 2005. Danny received wide acclaim in the 1970's-80's for both his traditional turquoise jewelry as well as his inlay jewelry. Danny Romero was the first silversmith to literally put painted art into jewelry.

Born in 1947, he originally earned a degree in biology continuing on to work for the Fish and Wildlife and Forest Services. Andy had learned the basics of jewelry making at the University of New Mexico and with the urging of Navajo artist, Gibson Nez, he made the decision to become a full time jeweler. Andy Lee Kirk was a consummate artist with many fine skills. He did lapidary work, rolling his own beads, and had mastered many types of precious metalwork including lost wax and sand cast techniques, stamping, engraving, overlay and fabrication. His artistic innovation reached further than aesthetic beauty alone. His designs were brilliant – a perfect balance between clean modern lines, meaningful symbolism, and bright southwestern colors such as lapis lazuli, turquoise, and red coral.
