His exceptional work remains highly coveted by collectors with a deep appreciation for Southwestern artistry. Beyond his own creations, Patania played a pivotal role in elevating the craft of Native American silversmiths, generously sharing his expertise in gemstone setting and other intricate techniques. He fostered the talents of Pueblo artisans like Julian Lovato of Santo Domingo and Louis Lamay of Hopi, serving as both mentor and employer.
