THE B&G INLAY COMPANY WAS LOCATED IN THE PROVINCE OF STUTTGART-VAIHINGEN, GERMANY AND CEASED OPERATIONS IN 1910. MR. GRETAUX WAS THE ARTIST AND MR. BUCHSCHMID WAS THE ARTISAN WHO MADE THE DECISIONS FOR HIS PARTNERS DESIGNS. BOTH ARE no longer with us AND THE COMPANY'S ASSETS WERE ALL SOLD IN 2005. THEIR WORKS ARE HIGHLY COLLECTIBLE DUE TO THE END OF PRODUCING ANYMORE OF THESE INCREDIBLE WORKS OF SKILLED CRAFTSMEN. THE METHOD THEY USED WAS AND STILL IS KNOWN AS THE 'DEKORPIER' METHOD. B&G MADE AND SOLD MANY OF THEIR PIECES TO RAILWAY COMPANIES AND SHIPPING LINES TO DECORATE CARRIAGES AND STATE ROOMS DATING FROM THE EARLY YEARS OF THE 20TH CENTURY. THEY WERE SOLD WORLDWIDE. THEY MARKETED THEIR PANELS TO AMERICAN SERVICEMEN SERVING IN MILITARY BASES IN WESTERN EUROPE IN THE 50'S, 60'S AND 70'S. tw254
