Frank Vacit (1915-1999) was one of the most talented and recognized Zuni jewelers of his era. His career with inlay began in 1932 as he created designs based on pottery. Furthermore, he pioneered the channel inlay technique as well as creating pieces with mosaic inlay. He worked through the 1950's and became a master of his craft. Amongst his silversmith contemporaries, he was one of the few artists to use a hallmark, which was a delicate and distinctive fleur de lis. His pieces have become some of the most valued of his time because of the precision and beauty found within his pieces.
