Bolo measures
2.5" x 1 5/8" tips are thick and heavy Cord is thick and very well made with no
issues. 46" long with a total weight of 108.1 grams.

Tommy Jackson was born in Phoenix, Arizona on January20, 1958 but grew up in the
heart of Navajo land in Chinle, Arizona. He went to high school in Chinle, the
town at the mouth of the legendary Canyon de Chelly—a stronghold for 19th
century Navajo, known then as the “Lords of the Land”. Steeped in mythology,
this landscape echoes the strength and beauty in the Navajo bedrock of
beliefs—foremost of those is responsibility to family and clan. A husband,
father, and grandfather, Tommy is also a world-renowned gold and silversmith,
his award-winning pieces on exhibit in museums and treasured in collections
around the world. As a premier Navajo Silversmith he counted amongst those few
known as “The Supersmiths.”

Jackson started silversmithing in 1973, learning at the bench of his parents,
renowned silversmiths Gene and Martha Jackson. (He is also the nephew of Dan
Jackson, another well-known silversmith.) However, it was his mother who urged
him to pursue a degree, and he followed her footsteps into education, eventually
teaching elementary school at Wide Ruins on the Reservation. But jewelry-making
called to him in his spare time, in the after-hours, in the late night, and by
1988 he was winning prestigious awards, and has continued winning nearly every
year since at the big shows, including Santa Fe Indian Market and the Heard. He
was also chosen as Navajo Tribal representative for the Salt Lake City Winter
Olympics.

A striking example of Tommy’s pieces is the motif of Navajo rug designs. He
sometimes works these patterns directly into the gold or silver; or he inlays
stones in visually stunning creations that reflect the complexity of Navajo
tapestries. Other pieces are a declaration of his passion for high-grade
American turquoise. These pieces are all about the great stone. He will use
heavy-gauge silver, and in keeping with the old style tradition then chisel or
hand-stamp, all with an eye of showcasing a great old American turquoise stone
such as Bisbee, Morenci, Lander Blue or Candelaria. He is known for integrating
traditional Navajo designs with a modern flair, working with gold and silver and
a variety of precious and semi-precious stones.

He has won numerous awards for his beautiful and unique jewelry from the Heard
Museum Show in Phoenix, Santa Fe Indian Market and The Museum of Northern
Arizona, to name a few including First at Indian Market, as recently as 2014. He
and his wife, Marie, who does much of the stone-cutting for his pieces, have
pieces featured in national publications.

Both necklace and pendant tested sterling, both amazing quality.

Richard is perhaps best known for his distinctive textured silver designs. His trademark techniqie of granulation was discovered by accident when he noticed silver filings were fusing onto a ring he was soldering. He calls the process which produces this granulated surface texture “reticulation,” and he has been perfecting the technique throughout his career.

Born in 1956, Richard has been a jeweler since the mid 1970s. He learned jewelry making from his brother Boyd and from Kenneth Begay at Navajo Community College in Arizona. He quickly progressed from basic tasks of cutting and polishing stones to the more complex process of inlay.

Richard’s contemporary silver and hold work features the use of fabrication, overlay, and granulation. He is also known for colorful inlay work with a variety of natural stones and for his fine degree of control and attention to detail. His designs are motivated by images of the natural world, particularly the Wide Ruins area of the reservation where he spent a large part of his youth. Richard says of his work, “I am inspired by the colors of the mountains at sunset, the patterns of shadow and light that emerge at dawn, and the pinpoints of starlight against the black night sky.”

His pieces typically contain the symbol for lighting and an arrow pattern. The lightning stands for natural causes, while the arrowhead symbolizes man-made elements. Richard says the design represents the ups and downs of life. “Some things we can’t do anything about and you should try to enjoy life to the fullest.”

6.5" Jim Poyer Navajo sterling multi-stone channel inlay bracelet. High quality
work with no issues. 5.5" plus 1" gap 19mm wide.

This exciting artist was born in 1954 close to Mexican Water, Arizona and was
raised near Red Mesa, south of the Four Corners. His traditional Navajo family
upbringing gave him a strong sense of values.

He attended high school in Shiprock and did well in school. He spent a few
semesters at BYU and University of New Mexico before deciding that college was
not for him. Instead, he felt the lure of travel and his first love, music. He
played lead guitar and sang vocals for nearly two decades, many times as the
opening act for well known country performs everywhere from "Canada to Mexico."

He began to work as an apprentice to renowned jeweler, Jimmie Harrison, when he
wasn't on tour. It wasn't long before he began to make jewelry on his own,
borrowing the inlay style from Harrison, but creating his own unique Native
American designs. This new passion for making jewelry coincided with his desire
to quit traveling and stay home with his wife Theresa and their children.

While his jewelry is sold across the country in fine galleries and museum shops
and demand for his work is high, Poyer has resisted the temptation to set up a
shop with other people producing his work or to cast the silver and gold for his
designs. Every piece is built by hand from sheet silver, wire and natural
stones. He enjoys working with turquoise, but is fascinated with the patterns
and colors from shells, malachite, jet, coral, sugilite, lapis and other
semi-precious stones. Jimmy Poyer is proud of every piece he creates. His
greatest pleasure comes from having others enjoy his work.

He presently lives in Farmington, New Mexico.

All precious metals are tested and guaranteed, any Native American jewelry
referred to as Silver or Sterling is guaranteed to be a minimum of 90% (coin)
silver and possibly higher content.
