I like to think I'm an expert in quality and this is a<br>premium quality period art nouveau vase from the early 20th century. The<br>porcelain is heavy and factory ground on the base, the entire piece is hand<br>decorated including the portrait and the gold. I'm unsure of the manufacturer.<br>I'm guaranteeing it to be European, likely Germany (Austria or Dresden) from the<br>first quarter of the 20th century and hand painted with no cracks, chips,<br>restorations, or significant loss. It's 13" tall x 5.5" wide. It came from a<br>muti-million dollar art glass collection, they had the best of the best from the<br>late 19th and early 20th centuries. This was one of just a few pieces of<br>porcelain they had to compliment the glass.<br>B26

c1910 FLT A little Odd Fellow Wearing His First Pin Print with Oak Frame. 5.5" x<br>6.25" framed with no issues.<br><br>Odd Fellows’ history is either a few hundred years old; or it’s very ancient<br>depending upon what you read. No one knows exactly how far back it goes, but<br>what we do know is that, despite historians’ best efforts to uncover these<br>things, the first Oddfellows (the British spell it as one word) date back to the<br>late 1700s as a “friendly society” or “box club.” A box club is a group that<br>uses a collection box to help members who fall on hard times.<br><br>The Odd Fellows in America (several different orders including the Grand United<br>Order of Odd Fellows, the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, et al.) got their<br>starts by receiving a charter from a British Oddfellows organization to form<br>their own lodges. Eventually, these organizations broke from England and formed<br>their own leadership structures aside from those where Oddfellowship started.<br><br>The mission of Odd Fellows, summarized succinctly, is to benefit the member and<br>to benefit their community. Whiting Co. began making silverware in North Attleboro, Massachusettsin 1878, when it was known as Holbrook, Whiting & Albee. The company became apart of Ellmore Silver Co in about 1940, and that firm went out of businessaround 1960. Crown Silver Co. of New York later acquired the Whiting dies. Thecompany mark of a griffon and a shield with a W was used up to 1896, and later aW in a circle flanked by stylized leaves. Some pattern names: Adams,Athene/Crescendo, Botticelli, Georgian Shell, Lily/Floral, Neapolitan/KingsCourt, Princess Ingrid, Rose of Sharon, Talisman Rose, Troubadour andVictoria/Florence.

Hallmarks on both sides of sterling base, tests sterling. 2" tall with no cracks, chips, or restorations.Cameo glass is a luxury form of glass art produced by cameo glass engraving or etching and carving through fused layers of differently colored glass to produce designs, usually with white opaque glass figures and motifs on a dark-colored background. The technique is first seen in ancient Roman art of about 30 BC, where it was an alternative to the more luxurious engraved gem vessels in cameo style that used naturally layered semi-precious gemstones such as onyx and agate. Glass allowed consistent and predictable colored layers, even for round objects. B70

Debans Atomizer on the left which I didn't<br>attempt to use but the bottom of the bronze atomizer hose looks like it may be<br>stopped up. They measure 5" and 5 3/8" tall. Selling the matches shown with penny shown for scale. The Kaiserhof Hotel was on the corner of 17th and Welton Streets. Originally built as the one story Hotel Albert sometime before 1890, the building was extensively remodeled and enlarged in 1909. A fire threatened the building during remodeling as a result of labor strife in Denver. The name was changed in 1909 to the Kaiserhof Hotel, reflecting both its owner’s German heritage and evoking the name of a more famous hotel in Berlin. The name was changed in 1917 during WWI to Kenmark to avoid associations with the Kaiser. It also became the army recruiting station at that point.The hotel was listed in newspaper accounts among the nicer and more successful hotels of Denver, and hosted many large and prestigious events during the 1920s.B70

It can be put together so many different ways allowing for it to be used in different locations at different heights, then a few pieces can be used alone and the other piece used for something else. I know it was engineered this way even though the 100 year old instructions are long gone. Each way I put it together it fit snugly as if that was it's original intention.. It's wonderful, super heavy solid bronze with top notch casting. When the three pieces are assembled as in the first pic it is 12" tall, the top tray is 11.5" wide, the center round planter with the spikes in it is 3.5" wide inside. There are no scratches or significant blemishes, dents, bends, etc. It's right around 100 years old from the first quarter of the 20th century. B45
