  • Fritz Casuse Navajo large 14k gold/Sterling silver purple stone/pearl pendant

Fritz Casuse Navajo large 14k gold/Sterling silver purple stone/pearl pendant

    1 in stock

Fritz Casuse Navajo large 14k gold/Sterling silver purple stone/pearl pendant. Solid sterling silver, marked as shown with only artists signature, with weight and measurements in the pictures. Tested and guaranteed solid sterling silver and solid 14k gold accents. Stone is great, I‘ll think about it more in the morning. Early in his life, award-winning designer, Fritz Casuse, showed natural aptitude for the arts which his family encouraged. As a graduate of the Institute of American Indian Arts, where he studied sculpture, Fritz has adapted his experience in other artistic disciplines to his jewelry. He views his jewelry as "something you can walk through," highlighting an attention to dimension and texture that offers a sense of space and wonder. Each of Fritz‘s designs focus on color and balance, enticing you to regard the whole work as a single masterful sculpture. His designs truly break the mold on Native American jewelry with a contemporary stroke that will amaze collectors. Fritz‘s early work experience as a graphic designer, eventually gave way to jewelry-making as he gradually became more involved in his projects for the Santa Fe Indian Market. His efforts would garner accolades from some of the most prestigious art fairs dedicated to Native American work. Fritz holds blue ribbons from both the Heard Museum Guild Indian Fair & Market (2005) and the Santa Fe Indian Market (2005). In 2006, he became a fellow of the Southwestern Association for Indian Arts, and added to his honors "Best of Classification" awards from both the Heard Museum and the Santa Fe Indian Market for his 18k yellow and white gold perfume-vial ring, Nizoniful. Mindful of his role in encouraging the next generation of Native American artisans, Fritz has returned as an instructor to the Poeh Arts Center in Pojoaque, NM, where he was once a student. His time as a teacher has helped to strengthen his own skills as a jewelry-maker and inspires him and his students to experiment with progressive designs. An amiable spirit, Fritz explains that his fashion-forward, sculptural jewelry designs are a combination of forethought and serendipitous discovery, resulting in jewelry that excites both his students and collectors. Examples of his awe-inspiring jewelry can be seen in Dexter Cirillo‘s book, Southwestern Indian Jewelry. Fritz is originally from Twin Lakes, NM in the Eastern part of the Navajo reservation in New Mexico. He shares his home with his wife and son. The subtle balance of his environment - the purity and texture of architecture, landscape, insects and animals, and the sea - and the fun of family-life and teaching, mix together in a creative experience that doesn‘t feel like a job.

G.A.R. civil War Veteran GAR Annual Encampment Medals/Watch Fobs 1896, 1904, 1905, 1906, 1914, 1915 Ohio. The 1896 is missing the pin from the back, the rest are in good condition. These are all from the same civil war veteran. I believe the last name was Wayland. The Grand Army of the Republic (GAR) was a fraternal organization composed of veterans of the Union Army (United States Army), Union Navy (U.S. Navy), Marines and the U.S. Revenue Cutter Servicewho served in the American Civil War. Founded in 1866 in Springfield, Illinois, and growing to include hundreds of posts (local community units) across the nation (predominately in the North, but also a few in the South and West), it was dissolved in 1956 at the death of its last member, Albert Woolson (1850–1956) of Duluth, Minnesota. Linking men through their experience of the war, the G.A.R. became among the first organized advocacy groups in American politics, supporting voting rights for black veterans, promoting patriotic education, helping to make Memorial Day a national holiday, lobbying the United States Congress to establish regular veterans' pensions, and supporting Republican political candidates. Its peak membership, at more than 490,000, was in 1890, a high point of various Civil War commemorative and monument dedication ceremonies. It was succeeded by the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War (SUVCW), composed of male descendants of Union Army and Union Navyveterans.

A Native American jewelry piece referred to as "silver" or "ingot" is guaranteed to be at least 90% silver. I rarely use the word "sterling" when referring to older Native American silver or really any older silver jewelry as silver contents vary and "sterling" is 92.5% silver. No older jewelry is going to be exactly 92.5% silver, some a little over, some a little under. It wasn't an exact thing with handmade jewelry. I've seen thousands of pieces xrf'd to prove this. Bracelets are photographed on a 6" women's wrist.

    Gentile Glass Millefiori Paperweight

    1 in stock

Gentile Glass Millefiori Paperweight. Nice large paperweight in mint condition with no scratches or dings. 3.25" tall x 3" wide. The original glass worker in the Gentile family was Peter Gentile, born in Naples, Italy in 1884. He worked in Naples(Italy), Rochester (Pennsylvania), and Morgantown (West Virginia) before building his own factory in Star City (West Virginia) in 1947. His sons, Frankie, John and Joe Gentile helped him make paperweights in the off hours at the Guild Factory in Morgantown. However, most paperweight production since WWII has been associated with Peter, John, or John's wife Gertrude Gentile. Few weights were signed prior to1963. It is believed that Gentile Glass remained in production until 2006. Most, if not all, paperweights produced from 1975 on were signed. For more information, you can read about the Gentiles in the book American Glass Paperweights and Their Makers by Jean Melvin (1967 and 1970). b34

    1 in stock

Geraldine Yazzie Navajo Silver and turquoise cluster concho belt. 59" total length with no holes in 1" leather belt. New old stock condition, never worn, purchased for 6500k about 20 years ago. High grade turquoise, very high quality workmanship. 3" x 2.5" buckle, (10) 2.5" x 2" conchos. 670 grams. Geraldine Yazzie started creating beautiful silver jewelry in the late 80‘s. Learning from her mother, she supports her own family with her well-crafted belts and other forms. She resides on the Navajo reservation in the area of Smith Lake, New Mexico near Crownpoint, New Mexico. Geraldine is a Navajo silversmith in her early 50‘s who has been smithing silver for over thirty years. She is known for her Traditional Revival style jewelry. Geraldine‘s work is sometimes misrepresented as vintage, old pawn because her detailing is so like the work common to the middle of the twentieth century. She is also particularly adept in her manner of oxidizing her silver so that the patina seems to be due simply to age of the piece. In addition, she pays particular attention to using stamps of a bygone era and sometimes adds small nicks to her pieces to make them look as though they‘ve been worn for decades. Marked or unmarked as shown in pics, weight and other measurements in pics. Sorry but my jewelry is stored in a secure location and cannot be accessed for more pictures,<br>videos, or measurements until sold. • Grace Lai (1927-2010) Watercolor Painted of Beijing China Motorola Office while - Estate Fresh Austin

Grace Lai (1927-2010) Watercolor Painted of Beijing China Motorola Office while

    1 in stock

This piece came from the estate of one of the Head Executives of I think most of<br>Asian Motorola which is headquartered out of Chicago where Grace Lai was from.<br>She was most likely flown to Asia, I believe this is the Beijing Building, for<br>this comission. It measures 23"x 30". It was rolled up at one point so I will<br>likely roll it up for shipping but not too tightly unless the buyer has a major<br>objection to that. NO issues with painting.<br><br>Grace Lai painted downtown Chicago in concrete and steel bloom, for two decades<br>producing vibrant montages of skyline-shaping buildings as they climbed.<br><br>An "on-site" artist who didn't seriously take up painting until nearly 60, Mrs.<br>Lai donned a hard hat and was unafraid to board construction elevators for rides<br>high into the sky to complete her work. In winter she'd wrap herself in plastic<br>garbage bags and substitute rubbing alcohol for water in her paints, so they<br>wouldn't freeze.<br><br>"She just really captured the essence of the dynamic nature of construction,"<br>said Tom Broderick, executive director of the Construction Safety Council in<br>Hillside, which has about 100 of Mrs. Lai's paintings on display. "The craft<br>workers will feel the loss of Grace. She really cared about the industry and the<br>people who worked in it."<br><br>Until her husband, Harry, died in 1985, Mrs. Lai was essentially an artist's<br>assistant. He maintained a studio on Kinzie Street in the building that now<br>houses Harry Caray's restaurant, producing signs that graced everything from<br>theater marquees to train stations.<br><br>He was also a fine artist, and on every wedding anniversary, which fell on<br>Valentine's Day, he gave his wife a painting of a rose.<br><br>Mrs. Lai did prep work and handled the books at her husband's business. While<br>she dabbled in drawing and painting, her husband always told her she needed to<br>learn the artist's trick of perspective and made her promise she'd one day go to<br>art school.<br><br>So when he died, she enrolled at the American Academy of Art in Chicago. Each<br>day she took an uncrowded, early morning bus to her classes so she'd have room<br>for her art materials.<br><br>She got off at LaSalle and Adams streets in front of a construction site. With<br>time to kill, she pulled out a pencil and sketched the action.<br><br>"The developers liked it so much they hired her to develop a documentation of<br>the progression of their buildings," her son said.<br><br>Thus the craft of construction became the primary subject of her art. Working in<br>watercolor or pen and ink, she became a familiar sight at construction projects<br>around town. Laborers stopped by to chat with the gregarious artist, asking if<br>they had been sketched in that day, sometimes buying work that bore their<br>likeness.<br><br>In addition to her work on display at the headquarters of the Construction<br>Safety Council, a longtime patron, Mrs. Lai's paintings are part of the<br>corporate collection at BP (formerly Amoco) and Northwestern Memorial Hospital,<br>her son said.<br><br>The daughter of immigrants from the Chinese region of Canton, the former Grace<br>Lee moved frequently in her youth as her family followed her father's various<br>restaurants. She graduated from Schurz High School in Chicago.<br><br>For many years, she was the Sunday school superintendent at Chinese Christian<br>Union Church in Chinatown.<br><br>She kept painting until only recently, working on projects including the Trump<br>Tower.<br><br>"If I lose myself in painting, that's good," she told the Tribune in 2002, still<br>vibrant as she neared 75.

The soles appear to have never touched the ground. There's a tag on then that<br>says 3 1/2D and has a price of 1.93 or 7.93, can't tell for sure. The laces are<br>a little frail, but the leather on the boots is soft like early kid glove<br>leather. There is some wear to the purple silk lining. • Hand Forged Tortilla Pan with Thick Hammered copper skillet - Estate Fresh Austin

Hand Forged Tortilla Pan with Thick Hammered copper skillet

    1 in stock

Hand Forged Tortilla Pan with Thick Hammered copper skillet. Personally found by me in an old Barn on a Ranch in Wimberley Texas. I have no way of knowing for sure how old it is but it's obviously old and obviously handmade completely 100% hand hammered copper and hand forged handle. It's functional and ready to use. 20.5" total length with 8 5/8" skillet section 12" handle. This is way thicker and heavier than any copper cookware I have seen. Likely intended for and used over open fire at a camp. I don't know if it's from 1800 or 1960 but a similar pot today would cost a small fortune and not be as well made. No issues, ready to use for whatever. TW224

  • Hand Hammered Copper Man With Beatnik wall Art c.1960's - Estate Fresh Austin

Hand Hammered Copper Man With Beatnik wall Art c.1960's

    1 in stock

This is an incredibly interesting one of a kind item. It's definitely old,<br>guaranteed 1920's to 1970's, I'm guessing 50's or 60's from the hairstyle and<br>patina of both the wood and the copper. It's in its original homemade frame with<br>an old plywood back. Really interesting, definitely not mass produced. Measures<br>12 5/8" x 9 3/4". I can't find any indication of it's artist. Since I haven't<br>owned it since it's conception, it's hard to tell if it's in original condition<br>or has some dents.

  • Hand Painted Hochst Porcelain Coffee Set in box - Estate Fresh Austin

Hand Painted Hochst Porcelain Coffee Set in box

    1 in stock

Hand Painted Hochst Porcelain Coffee Set in box. Amazing set from the last half<br>of the 20th century 100% hand painted each piece signed by the artist. The<br>quality of this set compares with any of the worlds top porcelain manufacturers<br>and while Hochst isn't as prolific and sold in as many stores as Meissen,<br>Herend, Royal Copenhagen, etc it's just as good and a set like this would cost a<br>few grand if available today. It's mint I believe never been out of the box,<br>it's from a several million dollar home that was the couples' second home,<br>rarely visited. It's a demitasse coffee set 4 3/8" wide saucers cups 2 13/16"<br>wide without handles. It's complete and comes with 8 saucers, 6 cups, creamer,<br>sugar, and coffeepot. I'm guess it's 30-40 years old and there is minor<br>degradation to the foam interior of the box and some soiling to the box. there's<br>a different scene on each piece.<br><br>History of Hochst porcelain<br><br>The factory at Höchst was founded in 1746 and was supported by the Elector of<br>Mainz. They at first only produced faience but later (around 1753) mainly<br>porcelain was produced. The mark used was the wheel mark and later the wheel<br>mark with the electoral crown above it. Melchior was the most famous of the<br>figurine designers who worked for Hochst. After a fairly short existence, as was<br>the case with most of the makers of porcelain in the 18th century, Hochst’s<br>factory was closed in 1796. Nearly two centuries later, a modern factory was<br>opened in 1947. While the second factory closed in 1964. A third one followed in<br>1965 and is still around
