This is nice early 20th century copy of a painting by S. Koninck (1609-1659) in the 17th century. It portrays an old man, possibly Saint Jerome reading. The plaque is in excellent condition. The frame has some age lines and a few areas of restoration. It was made in Germany, possibly in the first quarter of the 20th century. c1950 Rosenthal Sanssouci Shape R53 Patter Gold encrusted Dresden flowers type decoration covered vegetable dish. From Rosenthal's Sanssouci shaped line, which is characterized by the scalloped edging as well as the raised trellis rim, this pattern R53 also identified as 682 is a lovely floral bouquet. The pattern features a central pink English rose on a long stem and two yellow flowers to the left with a purple mum between and two purple daisies to the right of the English rose. All of this is on a cream colored backdrop with heavy gold braided trim and with a U S Zone backstamp indicating it was made in the late fourties to early 50's just after WW2. c1900 Antique Star Mark Buermann Hercules Bronze California Spurs Pair. These are made of 'Hercules Bronze" special alloy invented by August Buermann.These spurs date pre-1914 with the Buermann Star hallmark, dating them before they were bought out by North & Judd in 1914. 5" long x 3" inner width at heel. As found with no damage Buermann Spurs are one of the most famous and sought after designs from one of the most famous makers in Cowboy Spur history. He can be considered to be a good businessman too, as he fulfilled the need of creating many different types of spurs and also aggressively patenting his brands/logos and designs.  What ever type or style was needed, Buermann was the first to step up and create them. History. August Buermann was born in Germany in 1842 but later traveled to the US after taking his apprenticeship in lock smithing. After joining the army as a substitute at the age of 22 he began making spurs for the civilian and military. Buermann fashioned the now infamous StarBrand that adorn his designs and creations.  The company had grown to have over 100 employees before the turn of the century. By the early 1900s, the majority of military men were wearing Augusts heel spurs and army officers were also entitled to wear heel chains and were all privately purchased from Buermann. August also had a son, August Jr, who succeeded him in running the company when he retired in 1896.  August Jr was also a good businessman like his father but, in 1914 the Buermann name and design was purchased by North and Judd, a large established hardware company. The infamous StarBrand of the Buermann boot spur was no more and was replaced by the North and Judd anchor mark. August Jr then retired. The Buermann name is not without some (slight) controversy too though.  Once the other well known manufacturers started to gain in-roads on the established business, selling new styles of spurs that were popular, Buermann was accused of making straight copies of these designs.  Even to the point where he was accused of taking copies of the images from other companies catalogs for his own use. At that time, the company was seen to be becoming more and more removed from it's customer, branching out and modernizing at a fast rate.  Other companies such as McChesney or Crockett were closer to their customers and Buermann was playing catch-up. Materials. Like many other spur makers, the majority of these spurs are made from solid brass or iron.  However, Buermann also invented 2 types of metal for use too, known as "Star Steel Silver" and "Hercules Bronze". Where these metals were used, the metal name was also stamped onto each piece. In fact, so good were the products that were being made in his modern factory in Jelliff Avenue, that he was able to win some awards of excellence.  The Centenial Commission of Philadelphia bestowed several awards for different products in several categories and the Star Brand also won awards at the St Louis Fair in 1904. tw154

c1880 Antique Moser Portrait Urns Pair. Selling both Urns bohemian, 19th<br>century, hand painted, likely Moser. One has a brace where the top and bottome<br>meet and one doesn't. I have no way of knowing if this is how they were<br>originally produced or not. The one without the brace is strong and stable with<br>no play. There is slight play in the one with with brace and a few small chips<br>where the two pieces meet. They are both fine and display very well, stable, but<br>extra care needs to be taken when packing and handling which is what I do and<br>will do. Selling both 14" tall x 5.5" wide minor wear to gilding, mainly on<br>bases as shown. No chips, cracks, or restorations other than what was mentioned.

c1900 Moorcroft Style Tubelined Wall Plate Hand decorated with Squeezebag Plate with Woman Chasing Husband with Broom. Really great, likely one of a kind. I believe the reason it's unmarked is there's a slight flaw in the glaze on the top right. In my opinion it's similar in quality to Moorcroft and if it were Moorcroft it would be few thousand dollar piece or more due to the age and great subject matter. Overall crazing, no cracks, chips, or rrestorations. 11.5" wide. I'm sure it's an antique 100+ years old and it's not restored, hand decorated, but that's all I'm really sure about. 1910 Meissen Figure of Cherub with Wings and Hands Bound. Mint condition with no<br>cracks, chips, or restorations. Very interesting 200 anniversary mark this<br>unique mark with dates 1710 and 1910 is well documented and designates important<br>pieces made in the year 1910. This Meissen figurine is depicting a seated cupid<br>or cherub with his wings and wrists tied behind his back, presumably to keep him<br>from getting into mischief. c1920 Rene Brenner Bayeux Tapestry Lustre French Faience Water Set 11 PC. Selling the set extremely rare, one piece is difficult to find, here's a set over 100 years old in incredible condition. Slight glaze wear on the rims of a few of the tumblers, the one in the top center of the first two pics has a shallow chip shown in pics. No other chips, cracks, or restorations. Ready to use or display. The (8) large tumblers are full sized water glasses 5 5/8" tall x 3 7/16" wide at rim 12 ouces or more. The (2) smaller juice or jumbo shot glasses are 3 1/8" tall x 2 5/8" wide at the rim, probably about 3-4 ounces. The pitcher is a large water ptcher 9.75" tall x 11" handle to spout, maybe 3 quarts/liters. No glaze flakes, chips, cracks, etc on pitcher. Very clean set. Rene Emile Brenner was born in France in 1889 and died in 1942. He followed Louis Etienne Desmat ideas with Bayeux tapestry scenes but Brenners work had more lustre in the glazes. Brenner produced superb pieces closely reflecting scenes from the Bayeux tapestry, which tell how William the Conqueror won the battle of Hastings and the English throne in 1066. It’s executed in brilliant blue, yellow and rust against a beautiful copper lustre background. tw192

West Texas Native American Prehistoric Water Bottle Possibly Caddo Quapaw. Extremely early piece likely 1000+ years old. I know it came with some stuff that was definately found in west Texas. Ancient Egyptian/Chinese Sancai Ram figure with Provenance from the Estate Of Hugh McMath University of TX Dean of Architecture. Ok so I'm 100% sure it's ancient and belongs in a museum...just not sure where it's from. If I found it in a collection of Chinese items I'd be sure it was Tang Dynasty Chinese or around that time. Thing is this guy got around quite a bit in the early to mid 20th century with an interest in Archaeology/Architecture. It has a custom fitted wood base with the number 13 on the base and I'm sure there's a list somewhere that says where he found this. It has old restorations on one horn and in the back. Really it's a little difficult to tell what's restoration and what they may have been afraid to clean off upon excavation. I believe it was discovered, not sure when by Hugh McMath who played an important role at the University of TX for many years, there's much information about him in the UT library, below is a description of his papers. 4" long x 3" tall without stand that was obviously made circa mid 20th century to display it. I'm confdent this is 80-100<br>years old but I don't recognize the signature which is weird. It's a very large<br>piece 9.75" tall and wide. The decoration is hand cut, the flower centers are<br>applied glass, the signature appears to be hand engraved. They are very descriptive about what they did, it doesn't sound like it had any holes or anything significant but it sounds like they did it right and I bet it cost a few grand to do this job as this type of work doesn't come cheap. c1900 Fenal Freres Pexonne Marcelle Customized Plate. Interesting likely one of a kind item, I'm not sure if it was made by a factory worker or if they sold customized plates at one point. It's over 100 years old with no cracks, chips, restorations, or crazing. 8.75" wide. Hand painted with an underglaze stencil of the name. It is one of the oldest in Lorraine. (1720). Through many disappointments, earthenware will change hands 7 times in 100 years. From 1836, it was entirely owned by Nicolas Fenal, a farmer, who suddenly found himself the owner of this pottery. When he died in 1857, his children and nephews took over from him and created the Fenal Frères (FF) brand. One of the nephews, Théophile Fenal, created his own factory in Badonviller, after a turbulent period in Pexonne. The factory competes with that of his family in Pexonne. After the war of 1870, with the arrival of immigrants from Sarreguemines, the quality of the earthenware from Pexonne changed. Modernly designed ovens are set up and old colored paste earthenware gives way to white paste and transparent enamel. The creation of the Baccarat-Badonviller railway line which serves the Pexonne plant promotes development. In 1897, the Fenal Frères joint ownership - uncles and nephews - registered its marks. It is the Golden Age of the manufacture which will reach 389 workers in 1900. The production, not always identified, will be very varied (from crockery to earthenware stoves) and of good quality. tw193 The life of the workers of the earthenware factories of Pexonne at the beginning of the XX ° century was hard. They came - women, men and children - from Pexonne, Fenneviller but also from Neufmaisons and Badonviller. Everyone went to work in sneakers in summer and clogs in winter, in the dust and under the sun in the summer, in the snow in the winter. Daily work was since the law of 1848 "limited" to 12 hours. A law of 1892 had however reduced the work of women to 10 hours ...... The workers of Neufmaisons and Badonviller brought their midday meal in "camp pots" but for the majority of them, it was the wife or the eldest daughter who would carry the meal to Pexonne. Hard, hard, life in 1900, for the workers of the “Belle Epoque”… .. The First World War will seriously damage the Pexonne factory. Quickly rebuilt and modernized, the earthenware will again suffer attacks during the Second World War. August 27, 1944 is a dark day for the town: 80 deportees (of which only 17 will return from the camps). M. de Vitry is among the dead, as is his son Guy. M. de Villermont, mayor of the village will be shot. Life resumed in October 1945 at the earthenware factory, with the production of useful articles, soon to be improved. Exports are resuming, particularly to North Africa. But the ravages of war will leave fatal traces: the equipment is defective, production drops. The coup de grace will come in 1953 with the final shutdown of the generator which supplies the plant with motive power. The factory will close… ..
