c1880 Wax Head doll in Christening Dress. Really great doll, the eyes do open<br>and close but they tend to stick and take a few minutes to adjust when sat up or<br>down. 24.5" long with dress, 16" long from head to feet, head is 2 5/8" from top<br>of head to chin. Stable crack to the right of the shoulder covered by dress that<br>doesn't go to the bottom of the wax part, shouldn't be an issue but worth<br>mentioning. The dress is incredible, silk I believe. It is a little frail and<br>has a few inconspicuous holes overall very presentable.<br>TW252

Alabama "Feels So Right" Presentation Record framed Given to Tom Middleton. I have not examined this outside of the frame but I acquired it from Tom Middleton's(1953-2020) estate personally along with about 400 pairs of cowboy boots and everything cowboy imaginable. Selling this, what I assume to be a record that was framed and given by Alabama for the work tom did for the album. 19.5" x 21.5" framed, 12" x 12" sight. 5.5" wide plaque. In 1973, Tom found a catalog of instruments from Warehouse Music Sales in Fort Worth that contained multiple dobros. He sold his two guitars and used the funds to buy his first dobro. After it arrived, his life was never quite the same. If you ever had the pleasure to hear him play, you saw Tom doing what he loved. Before making his way to Arizona to continue his education, Tom worked as a towboat deckhand for the United Maritime Union on the Ohio, Monongahela, and Allegheny Rivers. Tom received a BS in English Literature from Northern Arizona University. During his time in Flagstaff, he was a member of the Mormon Lake Hotshots on the Coconino National Forest. Bill Mack's "All Night Open Road" show from WBAP in Dallas kept him company at the Mormon Lake Guard Station. He became lifelong friends with several of his fellow firefighters and kept in contact with them the rest of his life. But music kept calling, and Tom began working for R.Q. Jones Resophonic Guitar Company in Wanette, Oklahoma. Now he wasn't just playing dobros, he was making them. In fact, he made one for a young dobro player named Jerry Douglas who is now widely regarded as "the" dobro player of our time. The dobro in question now belongs to the Music Instrument Museum in Phoenix. Jerry and Tom became good friends and whenever Jerry toured through Austin in recent years, they would take in some live music together at Ginny's Little Longhorn Saloon among other music venues. In 1978, Tom went to work for Peaches Records and Tapes in Oklahoma City, then The Handleman Company, and finally Pickwick Distribution Company in Dallas. These three jobs showed Tom the buying, selling, and distribution side of the music business. By 1985, Tom was working as a Print Production Manager at The Richards Group, an advertising agency in Dallas. He excelled at print production and would stay with it in Austin at both GSD&M and McGarrah Jessee from which he retired after 24 years shortly before his death. Tom's work in print production should not go unrecognized. There is no doubt that countless times you've seen ads, packaging, and products that he produced – you just didn't know it. Jared Chavez Santo Domingo modernist sterling Link bracelet. 7" long x 1 1/6" wide x 75.1 grams. Does have a scratched signature JJC-00 on reverse side. Jared J. ChavezI began my journey as an artist learning to craft jewelry from my father, Richard I Chavez, a renowned lapidary artist. I was not given exact direction as to what to make but was only given the tools and instruction on how to use them. Along the way my work would be critiqued by my father and I would continually strive to evolve my designs and fabrication processes. He stressed the quality of the design and construction making sure that every aspect of a piece looked “finished” and no corners were cut. Along with all that I learned in my father’s studio, I would receive a Bachelor of Arts from Georgetown University in Studio Arts with a focus in Digital Art and Printmaking. After I graduated, I would attend The Revere Academy of Jewelry Arts’, Intensive Bench Jeweler Program in San Francisco. Each of these educational experiences added a particular technical or visual aspect to my work and would encourage me to continue to explore all the ways I could enhance my designs. My current work focuses on the reflective nature of polished silver. Though fabrication, metal stamping, and some casting, I explore how light and reflection interacts with the materials I utilize. I’ve found that polished silver takes in the colors and the light of the world around, and through the use of surface texture a dynamic play of light is created across the surface of my designs. I further enhance my work thought the use of semi-precious stones (agates, quartzs, jades, etc.). However one of the most important qualities in my selection of stones is often translucency. I’ve found that by allowing light to shine though a stone an overall rich and warm effect is created in the overall design. Along with my yearly schedule of shows where I sell my designs, I’ve also made it a point to educate the public about my work. Growing up in my father’s studio, I always saw just how much of himself he put into his designs and how sometimes he was met with disbelief as to how much work was put into his pieces. I found this to be a similar case when I entered the business, as the general public only sees the finished piece. For that reason, though in person demonstrations and self-produced video mini-documentaries, we’ve made it a point to show the skill, time, and passion that goes into every design. Carlos’ career as a jeweler began in the 1970’s, inspired by his mother, who was an artist of Ottawa/ Chippewa descent. He is completely self-taught. Unlike many jewelers, he is both a lapidary and a silversmith, and fabricates all of his jewelry by himself. Nothing is cast or manufactured. He is an Elder in the Little River Band of Ottawa Indians, but also considers himself part of God’s Universal Family. Danish Bari Special Handcut Smooth Freehand (7200) Tobacco Pipe Bari pipes often take a rather classic bowl and combine it with a more conservative (shaping) shank and stem that is beefed up on growth hormones. More often than not, when we get a Bari estate it combines a bowl and stem that are battling for design and element dominance rather than agreeing to unify. 1970's Licio Zanetti Murano Art Glass Ducks. Nice large almost life sized ducks<br>extremely heavy. I'm sure they are both signed but one had this label on the<br>base as most items in the estate did stating where they bough them and what they<br>paid for them. It has likely protected the base from scratches all these years.<br>I removed the corners just to show it wasn't chipped under the label. I felt<br>leaving it to help establish provenance was appropriate. They both measure 12.5"<br>x 13" long varying slightly as they were handmade about 50 years ago. BUCHSCHMID WAS THE ARTISAN WHO MADE THE DECISIONS FOR HIS PARTNERS DESIGNS. BOTH ARE no longer with us AND THE COMPANY'S ASSETS WERE ALL SOLD IN 2005.  THEIR WORKS ARE HIGHLY COLLECTIBLE DUE TO THE END OF PRODUCING ANYMORE OF THESE INCREDIBLE WORKS OF SKILLED CRAFTSMEN. THE METHOD THEY USED WAS AND STILL IS KNOWN AS THE 'DEKORPIER' METHOD. 1830's Spode Copeland Garrett Footed Comotes Pair. Selling the pair shown in the<br>most amazing condition imaginable for even 10 year old porcelain but especially<br>for 180+ year old pieces such as these. No cracks, chips, restorations, crazing,<br>wear to gilding, wear to enamel, or utensil marks. Hand painted and wonderful.<br>10.25" handle to handle x 2 7/8" tall. I'm also including a pic of an example of<br>one of these with a hairline, crazing, and some wear bringing $818.18 in an ebay<br>auction in 2010. These have great painting and strong embossing, the feet are<br>really great.<br><br>Following the death of his father Josiah Spode II in 1827, Josiah Spode III kept<br>a watching brief over the Spode works. Incapacitated by an unfortunate accident<br>at the factory in 1802, he was unable to engage in the day to day business. On<br>his death in 1829 the executors administered a long standing agreement which saw<br>William Taylor Copeland running the London retail business as well as holding<br>one quarter share in the factory. At the termination of the agreement on March<br>1, 1833, Copeland purchased the remaining shares in the factory and the London<br>business. Being greatly involved in in politics, in developing art school<br>education, and living the life of a well to do London gentleman, Copeland<br>engaged one of his senior London employees as a partner and Thomas Garrett took<br>responsibility for overseeing the smooth running of the Stoke factory.<br><br>The factory grew in size during this partnership and the production of<br>porcelain, earthenware, and stoneware continued. New shapes were added and<br>patterns and designs were influenced by the rococo revival that dominated<br>fashions in the 1830s. Copeland & Garrett's bone china and felspar porcelain<br>attracted the attention of highest echelons of society, and after her Majesty<br>Queen Victoria's accession to the throne in 1837, she acquired wares for both<br>Buckingham Palace and Windsor Castle. Despite the prominence of their porcelain<br>productions they continued to make earthenware in even larger quantities with<br>markets at home and abroad. Among their finest productions are the printed<br>patterns some of which were traditional designs from Spode's time and other<br>newer patterns introduced for the contemporary market.<br><br>After 14 years, in 1847, the partnership was dissolved and Garrett returned to<br>London while Copeland continued to run the business.<br>tw221

Les Baker (1935-2014) Southwestern stamped sterling watch bracelet. Fully<br>functional but needs a battery<br>Les Baker (1935-2014), southwest artist from New Mexico, was born in 1935. Les<br>learned to silversmith in 1962 when his wife at the time wanted a squash blossom<br>necklace. Les could not afford to buy one for her so he went out and bought the<br>tools to do so. At a Christmas party, Mrs. Maisel asked where she got the<br>necklace and his told her that her husband made it. From there upon request from<br>Mrs. Maisel, Les went to work for the Maisels.
