Walt Glass Pottery(1943-2016) McQueeney San Antonio Texas Blue Red Drip Pitcher and Goblet Set. The pitcher is signed, the goblets aren't. All made by Walt Glass, all from same estate. One very small nick on footrim of one goblet shown in the back right of the last pic. No other cracks, chips, or restorations. The goblet vary a little as they're handmade. Pitcher is 7.5" tall, goblets average about 7.25" tall. TW14, Tw17 Walt grew up in San Antonio and, after serving in the Army, graduated from The University of the Incarnate Word where he later received an Outstanding Alumnus Award. He married Cynthia Vela, also a UIW graduate, in 1975, and they enjoyed 40 years together. After finding his artistic passion in creating beautiful, handmade, one of a kind pottery, Walt and Cynthia opened their shop, Village Gallery, in San Antonio's historic La Villita and a production studio in McQueeney, Texas. He and Cynthia loved participating in craft fairs around the country with a special fondness for the "Starving Artists Show" along the San Antonio River Walk and La Villita. They enjoyed a successful artistic venture for over forty years and their pottery has been appreciated across the globe. His unique pottery was collected by dignitaries from around the world, including the Queen of England, Ronald Reagan, and other notables, as well as being featured by San Antonio's sister city in Japan. As a master potter, Walt enjoyed mentoring professional potters from around the world, sharing his technique and skill. Later in his career, he loved teaching Ceramics at Texas Lutheran University in Seguin, Texas where he contributed both in and out of the classroom. Using glassmaking techniques that<br>are thousands of years old, along with many of their own invention, Bruce and<br>Dari melt glass in furnaces that are designed for work in multiple colors. They<br>achieve a palette of distinctive colors by mixing various metallic oxide<br>formulations containing gold, silver, cobalt and others, into the molten glass.<br>They heat the raw materials in large ceramic pots inside a glass furnace at<br>temperatures in excess of 2400 degrees Fahrenheit. At UT, she was a member of Pi Beta Phi sorority. Later, she studied at Corcoran Gallery in Washington, DC and the Arts Students League in New York City. A life-long Francophile, in July of 1956, she made the first of many trips to Europe, this initial journey on the venerable Queen Elizabeth. Foree always had an artistic bent. At various times, she was a painter, clothes designer, and interior decorator. Her greatest success, however, came as a jewelry manufacturer when she started a company in 1987 called Medalias by Foree Hunsicker. At one time employing nearly fifty people, Medalias specialized in luggage tag jewelry, reproducing in sterling silver a wide variety of Victorian-era luggage tags and fashioning them into earrings, necklaces, and other accessories. A fixture for many years in the North Texas design world and at the Apparel Mart, Foree was honored with a Dallas Fashion Award in 1995.

He signed many of the works produced by his foundry with the pseudonym Nam Greb, so as to conceal his name from the authorities and avoid penalties for immorality. G.A.R. civil War Veteran GAR Annual Encampment Medals/Watch Fobs 1896, 1904, 1905, 1906, 1914, 1915 Ohio. The 1896 is missing the pin from the back, the rest are in good condition. These are all from the same civil war veteran. I believe the last name was Wayland. The Grand Army of the Republic (GAR) was a fraternal organization composed of veterans of the Union Army (United States Army), Union Navy (U.S. Navy), Marines and the U.S. Revenue Cutter Servicewho served in the American Civil War. Founded in 1866 in Springfield, Illinois, and growing to include hundreds of posts (local community units) across the nation (predominately in the North, but also a few in the South and West), it was dissolved in 1956 at the death of its last member, Albert Woolson (1850–1956) of Duluth, Minnesota. Linking men through their experience of the war, the G.A.R. became among the first organized advocacy groups in American politics, supporting voting rights for black veterans, promoting patriotic education, helping to make Memorial Day a national holiday, lobbying the United States Congress to establish regular veterans' pensions, and supporting Republican political candidates. Its peak membership, at more than 490,000, was in 1890, a high point of various Civil War commemorative and monument dedication ceremonies. It was succeeded by the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War (SUVCW), composed of male descendants of Union Army and Union Navyveterans.

19th c British Imari Spode/Derby/Davenport Various Patterns Cups and Saucers.<br>The Davenport cup and saucer is c1870, the rest is early 19th century likely<br>40-50 years older. The 5.75" plate or saucer is signed with an early 19th<br>century derby mark, the cup and saucer matches but I think it may be Spode. The<br>other cup and saucer with birds is early 19th century but I didn't research the<br>maker. Only one piece has damage and that's the saucer with birds on it. It has<br>a tight very old stable hairline that can hardly be seen from the front. Selling<br>the lot.

All late 19th to early 20th century. The larger cups and saucers are marked Limoges France. The other porcelain is unmarked and hand painted, likely late 19th century old Paris. The limoges saucers are 3 5/8" There's an extra saucer but it has a small chip. All other porcelain pieces are undamaged.

The Gulf Coast Lines was the name of a railroad system comprising<br>three principal railroads, as well as some smaller ones, that stretched from New<br>Orleans, Louisiana via Baton Rouge and Houston to Brownsville, Texas. Originally<br>chartered as subsidiaries of the Frisco Railroad, the system became independent<br>in 1916 and was purchased by the Missouri Pacific Railroad in 1925.[3]<br><br>The parent company of the independent Gulf Coast Lines was the New Orleans,<br>Texas and Mexico Railway, incorporated in Louisiana on February 28, 1916, which<br>bought the property and assets of the Frisco-owned New Orleans, Texas and Mexico<br>Railroad. Nice piece with clean paint with minimal wear shown in pics. Heavy for it's size as it's solid bronze, almost two pounds. 5' base x 3 1/8" tall. I couldn't find any markings but am certain it's turn of the century austrian bronze most likely bergman. Franz Bergman was an Austrian entrepreneur best known for his Viennese foundry which produced many patina- and cold-painted bronze sculptures of figures, animals, Orientalist scenes, and mythological creatures. Bergman is often misidentified as a sculptor, but he himself was not the original artist for the works—rather, he hired many anonymous sculptors to execute his ideas. He signed many of the works produced by his foundry with the pseudonym Nam Greb, so as to conceal his name from the authorities and avoid penalties for immorality. Born in 1861 in Vienna, Austria, he initially inherited a bronze factory from his father and later opened his own foundry. Bergman died in 1936 in Vienna, Austria

c1900 Northwood Green Opalescent Lemonade Set Pitcher and 5 Tumblers. No cracks,<br>chips, or restorations. There are 5 tumblers, I only photographed four, I'll try<br>to update the pics asap, the fifth one is perfect. One tumbler has the tiniest<br>flake on base rim, it's the same one with the black factory flaw on the rim.<br>Tumblers are 4" tall Pitcher is 9.5" tall. This is estate fresh, I don't believe<br>it's a married set. I haven't tested it under a blacklight, but wouldn't be<br>surprised if it glows, looks a little vaselineish especially the pitcher. all of<br>the tumblers bear the northwood mark.
