Frank was born on February 14, 1933 in Holbrook, Arizona to parents Arthur and Anna Beasley. He was part of the Towering House People Clan. He served in the US Navy during the Korean War for four years.In addition to creating beautiful jewelry, Frank was the co-founder and operator of the famous Chief Yellowhorse Trading Post, which is located in Lupton, Arizona, on Interstate 40 at the New Mexico border. The Chief Yellowhorse Trading Post started in the 1950s as a roadside stand where the Yellowhorse family sold Navajo rugs and petrified wood to tourists passing by. In the 1960s, Frank and his brother Juan "Chief Yellowhorse" built out the trading post, which included jewelry, and added gas pumps for those adventuring on Route 66. Frank was a kind and generous man who enjoyed interacting with the wide variety of people he met at the trading post.Frank and his wife, Elsie had eight children. Two of their sons are talented and well-known jewelers, Alvin Yellowhorse and Bryon Yellowhorse. Frank taught Alvin and Bryon the art of silversmithing, and they both have excelled in advancing Frank’s legacy of inlay jewelry, each in their own unique way.Frank passed away on August 13, 2020 at the age of 87.

Dan Simplicio (1917-1969) is best known for innovative turquoise and coral settings as well as his impeccable silver work. Dan worked at C.G. Wallace’s trading post and ultimately Wallace became one of the biggest Simplicio collectors. He used branch coral it its natural form, which was unheard of during this time period. He innovated the natural coral and turquoise style of jewelry while simultaneously excelling with his silver work. He was also a master of inlay, which he did only in his formative years of which we have few examples of today. Simplicio worked with silver in a very interesting way, a way that his son credits to his time overseas in WWII. He was influenced by the French, German and Italian use of leaf patterns. It is this leaf work that sets Simplicio’s pieces apart from traditional Zuni work.

His creative forces began to emerge in the 1980s at which time he began teaching himself the art of silversmithing. Buddy drew from the works of three late great artists: renowned Chiricahua Apache sculptor, Allan Houser (Haozous), Master Hopi Silversmith. Charles Loloma and Spanish Great, Pablo Picasso. While his pieces mirror the Sacredness of Houser, the Decorativeness of Loloma and the Surrealism of Picasso, Mossman was an artist in his own right. Buddy considered his Jewelry sculptures.
