Mid Century Modern Marquetry plaque with Kings holding goblets. This is really fabulous, estate fresh period MCM from the 60's or 70's. Likely one of a kind, no identifying marks that I could find. One small blemish in queen to the right's neck, looks like an adams apple. 21.75" x 12.75"I'm fairly confident this was originally a drink tray due to the size/subject matter. But judging from the patina of the hooks and wire on the back in the 70's or even 60's they decided they wanted to look at it rather than spill drinks all over it. And while there are trays from this era with a more intricate design this is by far the coolest one I've seen.This is showing up really orange on my other monitor, It's not orange, it's "regular" wood colors. I could find no identifying marks. Making this particularly important is this ribbon that was fixed to the top of the lid where it won first prize at the Los Angeles county fair in probably the 1920's-50's. I could find no date on the ribbon it's obviously very old and from a much simpler time than we live in today. Selling the pot and the ribbon it won. So there's likely a street and a school named<br>after her and her family. Important or not I think she's great. I'm 100%<br>positive this is a 19th century painting that has obviously been reframed within<br>the last 30 years. Appears to be an oil on board, 29.5" x 23.5" framed 19.75" x<br>24.5" sight. Fantastic 19th century Southern American portrait with no<br>significant issues. I have not examined this out of the frame, they did such a<br>good clean job framing it up that I just hate to tear off the back and<br>disrespect their work, though I am curious as there is no detectable signature<br>on the front.

c1890 Huge Cranberry Optic Brass based Table Oil Lamp. This lamp is beyond incredible, the base was fully restored at one point, it works, holds oil, the knobs for the burner/wick work, The oil cap says Juno Safety lamp made in Germany. This unusual lamp was likely made for and used aboard a ship or Train, or maybe the banquet of a hotel. But I think with the ultra wide base it really has a transportation feel to it. Guaranteed well over 100 years old base and shade and most likely original to each other as they are an uncommon size. This globe is huge measuring 11.5" tall x 9.5" wide with a 6" fitter base at the bottom of the globe. It is near mint with one tiny flake where it fits on the lamp base shown in the last pic, no other chips, no cracks, no scratches. The brass base measures 11 3/8" wide x 8" tall. Total height about 18.5" This is a big fat lamp. A few small dents in the brass shouldn't be a distraction as it's totally wonderful and will light up every room even if not in use. Today with portable led's it would be so easy to light this up without actually doing the oil thing in a modern home. Obviously they will be packed to death, the shade in it's own box with tons of cushion, I ship things like this globally daily, thanks for your consideration.

These bottles are really clean all late 19th to early 20th century. No chips, cracks, not all scratched up, no dinged up or stained. The large bottles have labels under glass 9.75" tall marked W.T. Co USA. Mid sized are high quality art glass with ground pontils indicating they were hand blown by a top factory 7" tall and the labels appear to be enameled glass, these are the highest quality pharmaceutical bottles I've ever seen. The smallest ones are 6 1/8" tall and have paper labels, the bases are embosses 200 x 2, and the 2's look a little Frenchy. The whole lamps top, bottom,<br>burners, hardware, etc are from the 1890-1910. I obviously have no way of<br>knowing if these shades were on them 125 years ago or not, they were on them<br>when I got them and they look fantastic on them. As you can see some of the<br>hardware on the burners doesn't match completely, but they are functional, bases<br>and most of the hardware was polished and lacquered at one point in the last<br>half of the 20th century. I think it's really old, 19th to early 20th century.<br>Nice estate fresh ceremonial mask covered in hide with some wear as shown.<br>15"high, 10"wide, 12.5"deep, crack in forehead, a few of the horns are a little<br>loose.<br><br>The Bete and Gere people reside in Ivore' Coast, just south of the Guro. ,<br>omnipresent in Bete life, aims to maintain a harmonious relationship between<br>nature and the ancestors, who are responsible for the welfare of the tribe.<br>Elaborate masquerades and ceremonies are performed by the men of the tribe who<br>belong to dance societies.According to the book, THE TRIBAL ARTS OF AFRICA<br>byBacquart: "Bete carvers are renowned for one particular type of face mask<br>which has exaggerated features- a large protruding mouth,an elongated nose,with<br>nostrils sometimes extending to each side of the face, and globular eyes set<br>beneath a high domed forehead carved with a medium ridge. Historically, this<br>type of mask was worn to prepare men for war; nowadays,it is worn for a variety<br>of ceremonies, including entertainment dances." These masks were influenced by<br>the tradition of their western neighbors, the "We". The Bete grew only what was<br>needed for a subsistence economy and placed more importance on the hunt. To<br>render the hostile forces of the forest material, they sculpted a type of mask<br>that would provoke terror: the "gre", with its grimacing face, distorted<br>features facial protuberances, bulging forehead. The Bete live in the<br>southwestern part of the country, between the Akan ethnic groups to the east and<br>the Guro tribe to the north. They number about 600,000 and are an agricultural<br>group. Amazing set here probably somewhat assembled and larger than what actually came in the box originally as there are different scales, It's estate fresh and this is how I got it. The cutlery is amazing some styled after mid 19th century pieces and possibly older than the original set, I'm not sure but I do know that 95% of the things in here if not 100% are over 100 years old. The stoneware pot is great, does have a small chip on the back side, the Iron enamel muffin pan is really great, there is some damage to enamel as shown. Box measures 12.5" x 9.5". c1750's Battersea box Frog and Deer. Two English 18th century boxes one in the form of a frog, the other a deer. I can't be 100% sure it was made at the Battersea factory, it could be a Bilston box from 20-30 years later. It's 18th century and guaranteed so, both rare boxes. The frog is 1.5" tall x 1.5" wide with some crazing inside and out mainly on the base and bottom of the frog, one chip to the enamel shown in last two pics. The deer 2.25" wide x 1 3/8" tall crazing on top interior and inside and outside of bottom, , small restoration just below the figure on the base and on opposing side of interior. Selling both boxes, if you are interested in only one please have an offer in mind. Battersea boxes developed in the mid 18th century as tiny decorative containers covered with enamel or porcelain and decorated with pleasing designs. Originally the boxes were made of copper covered with white enamel, decorated with classical or scenes or portraits. They evolved over time to become more sentimental. The Battersea box got its name from a firm under the tutelage of Sir Stephen Theodore Janssen, Once Lord Mayor of London at York House in Battersea. The boxes were decorated by transfer printing, which took an impression from an engraved plate painted with enamel and printed on to the box which was then hand painted and fired. The firm existed only from 1753 to 1756 however other firms producing similar boxes, especially those in the village of Bilston, took up this technique. Battersea became the collective name for all such boxes. With advancements in the pottery industry due to the Industrial Revolution, Battersea boxes gradually fell from favour. Allowing small boxes to be produced at less cost than the enameled competitors made Battersea boxes decline significantly by the mid 19th century. They became popular again in the second half of the 20th century with the development of commemorative boxes produced for such well known firms as Tiffany & Co. tw239

Texas Centennial Ice Cream Bowl Set Footed Sherberts set of 4 with multiple sets<br>available. These were made in 1936 I believe by Imperial Glass company to mark<br>the Texas centennial. They have no cracks, chips, or dings, no unacceptable or<br>detectable wear. The measure 4" wide x 3.5" tall. They are estate fresh,<br>guaranteed authentic. There are no reproductions other than the ones that were<br>reissued in 1946 which clearly say 1946 Edition on them and while still scarce<br>are much easier to come by than these that were actually from the 1936 Texas<br>centennial celebration and likely had ice cream served in them at that<br>celebration. c1949 Sterling Napoleon Hood Ornament by Garrard & Co Ltd. So I'm thinking this came off a Very expensive European car made in 1949 but I'm not 100% sure as I don't know the car, if I'm correct it would have been a limited production type of deal. I can find no other examples of this figure . The threading and another small prong I would assume to lock it in place extend slightly beyond it's base so it would need to be displayed on a base with a slight recess or the bolt could be ground down but if it is what I think it is and it's really that rare, maybe not such a good idea. 3 7/8" tall 167.8 grams. Regardless of what it is it is a high quality Sterling silver Napoleon figure that is extremely rare made by an important Silvermith that has been in business since the early 18th century. b3
