Hopi artist Lewis Lomay. (1913-1996). He began his career in jewelry in the 1930's and learned silversmithing at Santa Fe Indian School under renowned artist Ambrose Roanhorse. Lewis then went to work for jeweler Frank Patania in Santa Fe NM for 13 years. His designs were both traditional Hopi with a touch of European influence combining his time as an apprentice under both Ambrose and Frank.
