Sz8 Dean Adams (Paiute/Jemez) Sterling/spiderweb variscite ring. Marked as shown, solid sterling with weight and measurements in pics. Clean with no issues.. Dean Adams (1962-2024) Creating works of beauty is a time-honored tradition among the Burns Paiute people, a practice that some say extends back 10,000 years. When Dean Adams was growing up, his father, a master silversmith, traveled extensively, marketing his jewelry throughout the West. Ben Knighthorse Campbell, the renowned silversmith from Colorado, was his mentor. Much later in his career, Adams‘s father started a silversmithing school on the Burns Paiute reservation. Today, the growth of the silversmithing tradition in Oregon can be attributed in part to the instruction that took place on the Burns Paiute reservation. Passed from father to son, Adams‘s style of jewelry making today remains much like his father‘s. To set his work apart from those Native jewelers “down south who opt for lighter weight materials to reduce costs, Adams uses the heaviest silver and highest grade stones available. “I like to interact other stones," he points out. The stone(s) he selects for use (green turquoise and blue lapis, are examples) greatly affect how the piece will turn out. Adamss designs are his own; he doesn‘t imitate other makers. Along with his silverwork, Adams is known for his juniper bark “knee baskets, used traditionally for storage or as travel containers. Once peeled off of the tree, Adams works the bark with exacting care into a rounded shape on his knee. The sides are then brought together and secured with a binding stitch. Today, Adams‘s juniper bark baskets, some dotted with woodpecker holes, are popular for use as berry baskets. Dean grew up in the bay area and the hardships that came along with being a native in the 60s. It was then and there where his great pride of his family and a proud Paiute/Jemez man was created. He bragged all the time of being at Alcatraz during the AIM standoff. That was a great stand for our native people. Dean passed away in 2024.

sz8 Michael and Rosita Calladitto Navajo/Apache sterling and turquoise ring. No issues, Weight and measurements in pics, solid sterling. Michael & Rosita Calladitto Michael Calladitto is best known for traditional Navajo style jewelry using Sterling Silver & turquoise with deeply stamped designs. He loves working with turquoise and says that the stone make him more creative and skillful at the bench. Michael makes most of the decorative stamps he uses to make his jewelry by hand from the tempered steel of old car engines. Using old parts from piston rods to valve stems, he carefully cuts designs into the steel using tiny files and other tools to produce his personal stamps. Brought up on the reservation in the village of Pruitt, New Mexico and born to the Meadow People Clan, Michael is also part Apache. Raised primarily by his Grandparents, Michael draws inspiration from the same remote and wild places his Grandmother, a well-respected natural healer, took him to when he was young.

sz10.5 (Adjustable) Rebecca Collins Butterscotch Amber/Coral sterling ring. Selling the ring shown, weight and measurements in pics. Rebecca Collins, internationally known jewelry designer, is a native Texan and Phi Beta Kappa SMU graduate who started out as high school teacher. In 1975, Rebecca took a silversmithing class, where she discovered her passion for creating wearable works of art. Before she designed jewelry, she was an artist, and her paintings are now highly collectible. Rebecca Collins travels the world in search of materials for her jewelry, buying gemstones and antiquities from thousands of sources. Rebecca‘s designs are each singular and unique: as in nature, no two items are ever exactly alike. When she started designing jewelry, she discovered her fascination with connections between unrelated objects, which lies at the heart of her distinctive designs. Fans admire her artistic combination of contrasting materials such as faceted aquamarine with fossils, jade with vegetable ivory, or two-thousand year old Roman glass....... her "quirky" combinations create her signature look. Her favorite artists for inspiration are Gustav Klimt and Henri Matisse. The back of all of Rebecca‘s pieces are stamped with spiritual messages in order to create a "talisman", which by definition, is something "imbued with magic by its maker". The most common are the following:
