He had been apprenticed in the art of silversmithing by his grandfather<br>and father, and early on, he made jewelry with a filigree look. In 1941 he moved<br>his workshop to Taxco and adopted styles that were more in line with the tourist<br>pieces produced there.<br><br>During the 1950s, piecework was farmed out to smaller family workshops in the<br>Taxco area, and the pieces were marked Talleres de los Ballesteros. Bracciale geometrico e collana girocollo Margot De Taxco 5112 degli anni '50 Argento sterling messicano
Un meraviglioso braccialetto e collana geometrici di Margot van Voorheis Carr, meglio conosciuta come Margot de Taxco. Questa è un'edizione originale, non una copia successiva, ed entrambi i pezzi portano il numero di disegno 5112, rendendolo uno dei suoi primi progetti (Morrill e Berk, in Mexican Silver, affermano che i numeri di disegno di Margot iniziarono con 5100 e continuarono fino al 5790). Il timbro completo su entrambi i pezzi recita "Margot de Taxco, Hecho en Mexico 925, 5112" e un marchio Eagle 16. Antique Silver Hindu Ganesha Bib Necklace. Nice old heavy piece 104.3 grams.<br>Marked 80 in 4 places, I'm assuming that means 80% silver. I tested it and it<br>tests over 80% but below sterling. Total length is about 14.5" so it would fit<br>most as a choker, it has an old cloth rope holding the bottom links together,<br>one bottom dangle is missing but another could easily be removed to even it out.

1940's Period Art Deco Butterscotch Bakelite Necklace and Brass Mixed Metal<br>Pendant. This is a great piece with a fantastic no brainer patina to both the<br>bakelite and the brass chain/pendant. This is a great design that I'm sure can<br>be attributed to someone but I don't have time to research things, though I'd be<br>grateful for some input. The necklace is 26" and the pendant hangs another 2<br>5/8". This thing even looks great on me, it's a really classy period statement<br>piece.
