Floyd becenti(1962-2016) Navajo Large Gold Filled Sterling silver Kachina themed<br>Concho belt in the Overlay style. Large belt 20-30 years old in super clean<br>condition with no wear to the thick gold plating, solid sterling underneath. 10<br>conchos including the buckle measuring 2.5" x 3" 625 gram total inclusive of all<br>material. Each concho marked on back as shown. 1.5" leather belt, it will fit a<br>36"-41" waist with existing holes, it would of course be easy to make holes in<br>either direction or just change to a different belt as this is a standard size..<br><br>Floyd Becenti (1962-2016)<br>A Navajo silversmith known for his intricate overlay or appliqued narrative<br>scenes of Navajo life and spiritual themes, especially on large concho belts,<br>plates, seed pots, etc.<br>Each of his pieces has a theme: the struggles of Native history, including<br>modern times; the horrific event of 2011; traditional Navajo ceremonies, etc.<br>Each work is dramatic and astonishingly detailed.<br><br>Floyd was born March 7, 1962, in Phoenix, into the Táchii’nii (Red Running Into<br>the Water People Clan), born for Tó’aheedliinii (Water Flow Together Clan). His<br>nali is Bit’ahnii (Folded Arms); chei is Haltsooi (Meadow People). He died Feb.<br>16, 2016, in Gallup.<br><br>Floyd graduated from Tohatchi High School and attended college in Silver City<br>for one year. He also served in the Marine Corps at Camp Pendleton for one year.
