Carmen Beckmann sold jewelry from a shop she owned and operated out of her home in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico from the 1950’s through the 1970’s. Experts believe her jewelry was produced by multiple silversmiths and her hallmark affixed to the jewelry.Her work often draws on pre-Columbian designs presented in modernist contexts. She is known for necklaces, rings, pins, brooches, and earrings that employ silver and copper decorated with jade and other semi-precious stones.It is not entirely clear what role she played in the design of work she sold, but her mark on sterling silver jewelry indicates a collectible piece.

6 1/8" Retro Helen Chantler Sterling/18k Celtic knot woven link bracelet. No issues. Marked as shown, circa last quarter of the 20th century. Helen on a recent trip to Nicaragua, getting a fresh perspective. From an early age, traveling the world, I saw how art, craft and creativity brought beauty into everyday life. Beauty, for me, is a blessing that reminds us there is something greater than ourselves. Jewelry, as adornment, has been an expression of art and culture, as far back as 70,000 years. I like how jewelry can range from the legendary to the personal and intimate. The relationship to a particular piece can sometimes span generations because jewelry marks occasions, holds memories and anchors commitments. Sometimes, jewelry is just about pure fun.. I especially like using gems, a truly incredible gift from Mother Natureeach one with its own personality that can add so much to the designing process. When I moved in 1986 to Santa Fe, New Mexico, I saw how indigenous roots are important. Remembering the ancient Celtic stories and legends I grew up with in the UK brought me back to my tribal ancestry. Celtic design comes out of reverence for the earth and generations of tribal tradition. From this place, I have tried to bring contemporary style to motifs that are ancient and meaningful. I view my business as a community that must benefit human communities without harming ecosystems. In context to our sourcing and manufacturing, having high standards for human rights and the environment has been a priority, which is why I am pleased we work with 100% recycled metals and, when ever possible, ethically sourced gemstones. At the time of listing I have two of these rare bangles, listing separately. They vary in cat placement and level of oxidation of the background. This one has an older mark. anderas -consignment James Avery was a World War II veteran and the founder of the James Avery Artisan Jewelry company: Early life Born in Chicago in 1921, Avery was a decorated pilot who flew 44 missions over Germany. After the war, he studied industrial design at the University of Illinois and taught at the University of Iowa and the University of Colorado. Jewelry making Avery began making jewelry in his free time around 1951. He was inspired to create art that he found meaningful, and hoped others would find it meaningful too. Starting the business In 1954, Avery began selling jewelry from a wooden box at summer camps in Kerrville, Texas, where he moved with his wife. He printed his first catalog in 1957 and opened his first store and manufacturing facility in Kerrville in 1967. Designs Avery‘s designs were inspired by his faith, and often included faith-based images like crosses, chalices, doves, and fish. In the early 1900s, as Italy was continuing to become the world leader in<br>fashion, the Primavera family worked as jewelry artisans in the beautiful area<br>of Pescara, Italy. In 1918, the family founded Primavera Designs and by 1921 it<br>had become the largest jewelry company in the Abruzzo region. It was there that the family became well known throughout the region for their<br>ability to design and make jewelry for royalty and wealthy families. Often one<br>of the Primavera jewelry artisans would go directly into the home of a patron to<br>design and reproduce a cherished object of art into jewelry. This continued in Italy until 1934, when Mr. Victor Primavera, Sr. immigrated to<br>the United States and incorporated his company in Rhode Island; the jewelry<br>capital of the United States. Primavera Designs now had a United States<br>division, known as Danecraft, with a small factory and Mr. Victor Primavera, Sr.<br>heading up the design and model making teams. His forte in designing product was always timeliness. He often said that it was<br>easy to design a piece to be shown in a museum, but it took research and talent<br>to design product that would be worn by a woman with fashion sense. Vintage Sterling Bowguard bracelet with huge turquoise silver mercury dimes. Weight and measurements in pics. No apparent marks, solid sterling plaque with turquoise, solid 90% silver mercury dimes. I‘m not sure how this fastens. It‘s very soft doeskin, I assume maybe you would have some type of bungies or rubber bands to go from one coin to the other one on the other side. I‘m not really sure, it‘s not functional as a bracelet as shown.

Retro Robert Farrell Sterling sodalite post modernist bracelet 7" long bracelet, weight and measurements in pics. I believe these danglies were added by the last owner, it tooks great with them on but could be easily removed as the jump rings aren‘t soldered. I don‘t think the actual danglies are solid sterling. I don‘t believe the artist that made this bracelet would have used unsoldered jump rings as all of his work I have seen including this bracelet without the danglies is absolute perfection. One of the danglies is missing.I believe Robert made jewelry in the last quarter of the 20th century, I believe now his focus is Architectural sculptures which are fantastic. The quality of workmanship here is way above most studio jewelry in my opinion, I have a feeling it took him quite some time to creat each piece and that‘s why he went on to apply his skills in more 7.25" Federico Jimenez sterling and turquoise link bracelet. Weight and measurements in pics. Federico Jimenez Bio FEDERICO JIMENEZ was born in Oaxaca, Mexico in 1941 in a Mixtec Indian Community. He received a bachelors degree in science and art at the University of Benito Juarez in Oaxaca, Mexico. He came to the USA in 1967 to study and work. He studied jewelry making and design at the University Community School. In 1970 He and his Wife Ellen Belber Jimenez took a trip to the Southwest and fell in love with the American Indian Culture. He admired the Indian craftsmanship and technique so much that he was inspired to start a collection of Folk Art. He first opened a gallery on Main Street in Santa Monica, CA and then moved to Abbot Kinney Ave. in Venice, CA. His most important Gallery was opened on Montana Ave, in Santa Monica, CA where he specialized in Antiques and Collectibles, carrying Folk Art from Mexico, Latin America, and the Southwest. Important collectors and Museums were customers of his during the 25 years of his business. He and his wife amassed a big collection of Mexican jewelry: Pre Colombian, Colonial, and Contemporary, as well as Southwest art like baskets, kachinas, Pottery, Navajo, Zuni and Hopi rugs and jewelry. In 2008 He and his wife donated their Mexican collection and a building, to house it in to the city of Oaxaca, Mexico. It is called "Museo Belber - Jimenez".

Federico Jimenez Bio FEDERICO JIMENEZ was born in Oaxaca, Mexico in 1941 in a Mixtec Indian Community.He received a bachelor’s degree in science and art at the University of Benito Juarez in Oaxaca, Mexico. He came to the USA in 1967 to study and work.He studied jewelry making and design at the University Community School. In 1970 He and his Wife Ellen Belber Jimenez took a trip to the Southwest and fell in love with the American Indian Culture.He admired the Indian craftsmanship and technique so much that he was inspired to start a collection of Folk Art. He first opened a gallery on Main Street in Santa Monica, CA and then moved to Abbot Kinney Ave. in Venice, CA. His most important Gallery was opened on Montana Ave, in Santa Monica, CA where he specialized in Antiques and Collectibles, carrying Folk Art from Mexico, Latin America, and the Southwest.Important collectors and Museums were customers of his during the 25 years of his business. He and his wife amassed a big collection of Mexican jewelry: Pre Colombian, Colonial, and Contemporary, as well as Southwest art like baskets, kachinas, Pottery, Navajo, Zuni and Hopi rugs and jewelry.In 2008 He and his wife donated their Mexican collection and a building, to house it in to the city of Oaxaca, Mexico. It is called "Museo Belber - Jimenez".

They had all apprenticed in William Spratling’s taller before starting<br>their own business in Taxco, Mexico.
