6.25" Alice Leekya Homer Zuni silver turquoise fishscale inlay cuff bracelet

描述

6.25" Alice Leekya Homer Zuni silver turquoise fishscale inlay cuff bracelet. J-405 "trader's code" or collection code scratched on the back side.

Zuni artist Alice Leekya Homer, active mid to late 20th century. The stones are slightly raised channel inlay, with what is called a fish scale design. Alice and family were well-known for this style of inlay. Alice was the daughter of Leekya Deyuse. The workmanship is perfect on this piece and the wonderful color changes of the turquoise from age in is beautiful! Not Hallmarked, as her early pieces were not hallmarked. But comes with strong attribution.

All precious metals are tested and guaranteed. A Native American jewelry piece referred to as "silver" or "ingot" is guaranteed to be at least 90% silver. I rarely use the word "sterling" when referring to older Native American silver or really any older silver jewelry as silver contents vary and "sterling" is 92.5% silver. No older jewelry is going to be exactly 92.5% silver, some a little over, some a little under. It wasn't an exact thing with handmade jewelry. I've seen thousands of pieces xrf'd to prove this. Bracelets are photographed on a 6" women's wrist.
