sz10 Elliot Qualo Zuni inlay-Sam Begay Navajo sterling silver men's ring. Tested and guaranteed solid sterling silver with weight and measurements in photos. Circa third quarter of the 20th century. The silver work was done by Sam Begay, fine intarsia inlay by Elliot Qualo.
Sam Begay (1939-2002)
Sam Begay was a celebrated Navajo artist and silversmith, he was active from the 1930’s until the 1980’s. He is known for his intricate sandcast work and complex turquoise settings and hallmarks. Many of Sam’s pieces were featured in the famous Sotheby’s auction in 1975.
Elliot Qualo was the son of Myra Qualo, born sometime in the 1930s, but did not start producing jewelry until about 1960. His creations were always award winning pieces and highly coveted by collectors all over the world. He produced from 1960 until about the late 1970s, upon his passing.
