c1900 Austrian Silver/Amethyst/pear/necklace and screw back earring set. Very<br>incredible set, the last 2 pics show the hallmarks, I believe I'm being<br>conservative with the dating on this set. Upon very close examination I found<br>one earring missing two stones, one missing 1 stone, and the necklace missing 3<br>stones. It's really amazing all these pears are intact, the few missing stones<br>aren't at all noticeable and should be excuseable on this set that is about 120<br>years old and so fantastic. Necklace is 18.5" long and hangs down another 3.25",<br>earrings are 2 5/8" long. ` Total weight 54.2 grams.

I think there may be a few extras that were added by the previous owner and I'm sure not everything that came in it over 100 years ago is here but it's great with little wear to the box. The doll is marked 247 Dep, eyes open and close Box is 12 3/8" x 9 3/8" Doll is 11.5" in great condition doesn't look to have been played with. I think most of the patterns from the doll pattern book have been used and are presumably in the case. There's a tiny book that looks to be a replica of the larger book, possibly more recent. TW239

Amazing set here probably somewhat assembled and larger than what actually came in the box originally as there are different scales, It's estate fresh and this is how I got it. The cutlery is amazing some styled after mid 19th century pieces and possibly older than the original set, I'm not sure but I do know that 95% of the things in here if not 100% are over 100 years old. The tallest is 9.5" tall, spring hinged lid tested sterling though I couldn't find the mark, monogrammed. Next tallest is 5.25" American sterling and American brilliant period cut glass, a few small nicks in design and on bottom of stopper, next is 4.5" tall with british hallmarked sterling repousse lid, no inner glass stopper, tiniest roughness on two sharp points, no other issues. Tall skinny shaker shaped one is 5" tall with one chip in center of decoration, it has a lever to open or close to release liquid, lid marked sterling. 3.5" tall cylindrical jar with british sterling repousse lid, no damage, 3" tall jar with brass lid and inner stopper, a few tiny flakes on base rim and no other issues. c1900 Enormous French Daum Nancy Louis Majorelle Imprisoned glass<br>centerpiece/fish bowl. Basically any of this type of glass (Imprisoned, encased,<br>etc) you see is an imitation of this. The quality of this piece is next level,<br>thick hand forged iron encasing an amazing piece of art glass, well over 100<br>years old. I've seen smaller fish bowls, definitely lighter as this thing is<br>heavy. 14.7 pounds, 12.5" wide x 6" deep, it was too big to fit in one side of<br>my double sided sink.<br><br><br>Daum and Louis Majorelle was a prominent 19th century designing collaboration.<br>Majorelle was a French decorator and furniture designer who often worked with<br>Daum, a French studio known for their glass and crystal work made using the pâte<br>de verre method. Majorelle was highly regarded for his well-crafted woodwork,<br>made using veneers, in the Art Nouveau style. Similarly, Daum was known for<br>their attention to detail and elaborate Art Nouveau Designs. The French company<br>was founded in 1878 by Jean Daum. It was later inherited by Jean’s two sons<br>Antonin and Auguste at the turn of the 20th century, and the company began using<br>more sophisticated manufacturing techniques, including etching, carving, and<br>enameling, for which they later became famous. Born on September 26, 1859 in<br>Toul, France, Majorelle was raised in Nancy, later studying at the École des<br>Beaux-Arts in Paris. He would return to Nancy where he took over his father’s<br>furniture manufacturing firm. During this time, he began collaborating with the<br>Daum brothers on a series of lamps deigns, which were later exhibited at the<br>1900 Paris World’s Fair. Majorelle relocated to Paris at the outbreak of World<br>War I, but he nonetheless continued to collaborate with Daum on a number of<br>glass and furniture designs. Majorelle died in 1926 in Nancy, France. Daum<br>continues to produce crystal and glassware at their studio in Nancy.

c1900 Fenal Freres Pexonne Marcelle Customized Plate. Interesting likely one of a kind item, I'm not sure if it was made by a factory worker or if they sold customized plates at one point. It's over 100 years old with no cracks, chips, restorations, or crazing. 8.75" wide. Hand painted with an underglaze stencil of the name. It is one of the oldest in Lorraine. (1720). Through many disappointments, earthenware will change hands 7 times in 100 years. From 1836, it was entirely owned by Nicolas Fenal, a farmer, who suddenly found himself the owner of this pottery. When he died in 1857, his children and nephews took over from him and created the Fenal Frères (FF) brand. One of the nephews, Théophile Fenal, created his own factory in Badonviller, after a turbulent period in Pexonne. The factory competes with that of his family in Pexonne. After the war of 1870, with the arrival of immigrants from Sarreguemines, the quality of the earthenware from Pexonne changed. Modernly designed ovens are set up and old colored paste earthenware gives way to white paste and transparent enamel. The creation of the Baccarat-Badonviller railway line which serves the Pexonne plant promotes development. In 1897, the Fenal Frères joint ownership - uncles and nephews - registered its marks. It is the Golden Age of the manufacture which will reach 389 workers in 1900. The production, not always identified, will be very varied (from crockery to earthenware stoves) and of good quality. tw193 The life of the workers of the earthenware factories of Pexonne at the beginning of the XX ° century was hard. They came - women, men and children - from Pexonne, Fenneviller but also from Neufmaisons and Badonviller. Everyone went to work in sneakers in summer and clogs in winter, in the dust and under the sun in the summer, in the snow in the winter. Daily work was since the law of 1848 "limited" to 12 hours. A law of 1892 had however reduced the work of women to 10 hours ...... The workers of Neufmaisons and Badonviller brought their midday meal in "camp pots" but for the majority of them, it was the wife or the eldest daughter who would carry the meal to Pexonne. Hard, hard, life in 1900, for the workers of the “Belle Epoque”… .. The First World War will seriously damage the Pexonne factory. Quickly rebuilt and modernized, the earthenware will again suffer attacks during the Second World War. August 27, 1944 is a dark day for the town: 80 deportees (of which only 17 will return from the camps). M. de Vitry is among the dead, as is his son Guy. M. de Villermont, mayor of the village will be shot. Life resumed in October 1945 at the earthenware factory, with the production of useful articles, soon to be improved. Exports are resuming, particularly to North Africa. But the ravages of war will leave fatal traces: the equipment is defective, production drops. The coup de grace will come in 1953 with the final shutdown of the generator which supplies the plant with motive power. The factory will close… ..
