There should be around 10 photos. If no marking is mentioned or photographed please assume that it's unmarked as is common with Native American jewelry of this era.Bisbee Bob the jeweler was Robert Bradberry … His original shop was located in the Bisbee Grand Hotel. Later on he was located at two different addresses. He was convicted on drug chargers and served time. Later on he was arrested by the FBI who claimed he had illegally obtained Turquoise from the Lavender Pit mine. Turquois was seized from his shop. Charges were dropped but turquois was not returned. And that was the end of his days in Bisbee… You can verify this info on the net and with local newspaper archives. What I am not certain of is when he created the Anisazi Pottery pieces. I believe they were done in the mid to late 70’s. To my knowledge in the 60’s he was doing modern jewlery and Indian type jewlery. It was not until the 70’s that he started doing his signature pottery pieces. Listed with ExportYourStore.com

6.9" Jock Favour turquoise/ingot silver Navajo revival style cuff bracelet
6.9" Jock Favour turquoise/ingot silver Navajo revival style cuff bracelet. Tested and guaranteed solid sterling silver, with weight and measurements in pictures, circa last quarter of the 20th century.Born and raised in Arizona, Jock Favour is well known for his old-style jewelry that pays tribute to the classic techniques of Native American jewelry-making. Jock achieves the antique look of his jewelry by combining older stones with ingot silver to create heavy, beautiful pieces. He describes his technique as follows:“I carve tufa stone molds and melt sterling silver. Most of my bracelets are made from square ingot bars, which are then hand-hammered or forged into the desired shape and thickness. These techniques were used historically during the period of 1868-1930. The first ingots were cast from silver U.S. and Mexican coins. Coin silver is 90% pure, while sterling silver is 92.5% pure. I have melted coins and find no difference in the ‘look’ from sterling silver. The mellowness of old coin silver comes from wear and oxidation. I use ingot bars because it allows me total flexibility of size and shape. It is a time-consuming technique not unlike a weaver hand-spinning her wool into yarn, but the look and feel of the pieces is worth the effort.”Jock comes from an artistic family with a love of the outdoors. He lives in Prescott, Arizona with his wife, Deborah.

Fits a 7.4" wrist, circa fourth quarter of the 20th century with Kopavi shop (established 1976) hallmark.Master Hopi Silversmith, Waterhouse Clan – Shungopavi, Second MesaVictor Coochwytewa is widely regarded as one of the most influential Hopi silversmiths of the 20th century. A master of overlay jewelry and a pillar of his community, his work helped define the standards and aesthetics that Hopi jewelers continue to follow today. His career, which spanned more than 60 years, earned him national recognition, including being named an Arizona Indian Living Treasure in 1994.Born on June 7, 1922, in the village of Shungopavi on Second Mesa, Victor was a member of the Waterhouse Clan. He first learned the basics of silversmithing in 1940 under the guidance of Paul Saufkie. But his early career was interrupted by World War II, during which he served with distinction in the South Pacific. A member of the 167th Combat Military Police and later the 5309th Infantry Division under General Frank Merrill (Merrill’s Marauders), Victor saw heavy combat in Burma and was awarded the Purple Heart, Good Conduct Medal, and Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Ribbons. After being honorably discharged in 1946, Victor returned to Hopi and became one of the first students in the now-legendary Veterans’ Classes established under the G.I. Bill. Taught by Fred Kabotie and Paul Saufkie, these classes marked the beginning of a new era in Hopi silversmithing. Victor not only mastered the overlay technique but innovated within it—introducing a background texturing method inspired by leatherwork that became a defining feature of Hopi overlay jewelry.Victor's designs, executed in both sterling silver and gold, are known for their precision, spiritual depth, and elegant symbolism. Many of his pieces reflect Hopi traditions and cosmology, and his work has been collected by major institutions and private collectors around the world. In addition to his artistry, Victor was deeply rooted in the traditional Hopi way of life. A lifelong dry farmer, he raised corn, squash, beans, and watermelons without irrigation or chemical inputs, relying entirely on prayer, ceremony, and natural rainfall. “Jewelry is my hobby; corn is my work,” he once said with characteristic humility. He attributed the success of both his crops and his craft to blessings from the Creator. “When you pray, you should pray for all things, and in return, all things are benefited. Nothing can be accomplished without prayer.”Victor retired from silversmithing and farming in 2006 and continued to live with his family at Hopi until his passing on July 3, 2011, at the age of 89. Today, his legacy lives on in the work of his descendants and in the broader community of Hopi artists who follow the path he helped shape. His jewelry remains among the most iconic and sought-after expressions of Hopi artistry—no serious collection of Hopi overlay work is truly complete without a piece by Victor Coochwytewa.

6.75" Cippy Crazy Horse Cochiti pueblo brass deep stamped cuff bracelet
6.75" Cippy Crazy Horse Cochiti pueblo brass deep stamped cuff bracelet, circa 70's-80's.Cippy Crazy HorseBorn Cipriano Quintana to renowned jewelers Terecita and Joe H. Quintana, Cippy CrazyHorse has carried on the classic traditional Pueblo design his parents started. To these classic designs, CrazyHorse brings his personal style. The bold, deep stamp and chisel designs on thick gauge silver are his trademark. Much of the thick gauge silver comes from melting scrap silver into ingots – a process the “old timers” incorporated. CrazyHorse says of his work, “There are traditional classic styles in silver jewelry, the Navajo and the Pueblo , and I do the latter; from cuff bracelets to concho belts, ranger set buckles and bead necklaces.”Following high school, CrazyHorse attended Eastern New Mexico University in Portales for two and a half years and then served in the US Navy until 1972. Upon returning home to Cochiti, CrazyHorse worked as an electrician’s assistant on the construction of Cochiti Dam, but an injury in 1974 curtailed that line of work. According to CrazyHorse, the injury “forced his hand at silversmithing.” He started with the smaller tasks of making silver chains and gradually taught himself the old style of silversmithing. With much support and encouragement from his father and his wife, Susan, his silversmithing began earnestly. CrazyHorse has received much recognition for his work, having garnered his share of ribbons at the Southwestern Association of Indian Arts Indian Market in Santa Fe over the course of the past 35 years. He is considered a “Master Silversmith” and his work is numerous collections and books on Native American jewelry. In the August, 2008 issue of The Santa Fean, Cippy was featured as one of “Seven Standouts” of Indian Market. He has been featured in many other newspaper and magazine articles over the years, and in several museum and private exhibitions throughout the country. His work is highly sought after in Japan , where his classic designs are admired as well as his dedication to a traditional lifestyle at Cochiti Pueblo. Cippy and his work are featured in the “Artists – Handmade” section of the April 2011 issue of the Japanese (American Western Culture) magazine, “Free and Easy”.Cippy has also been a Jewelry Judge at SWAIA Indian Market a number of times, where his unique sense of humor certainly enlivens the proceedings.

In 1979, he became a full-time employee of the Thunderbird Shop. Handcrafted Silver JewelryFeeding his need for knowledge he would attend the University of Arizona in 1988-89, where he studied with jewelry instructor Michael Croft. “Michael got me to design wildly different work than at the shop,” Sam said, in reflecting on the influence that Croft had on him in the Tucson Museum of Arts exhibition catalogue 'The Patanias: Legacy in Silver and Gold'. The multifaceted work that Croft inspired in Sam included the techniques of lost wax casting, and the Japanese technique of monkume, (a fusion-layered patterned laminate).
