7 1/8" Navajo Richard Begay Schweres gestempeltes Sterlingsilberarmband. 7.25" c1980‘s Robert Kelley Navajo Sterling Mediterranean coral cluster cuff Bracelet. No issues, weight and measurements in pics. Robert and his wife Noreen were Navajo Artists active in the last half of the 20th century. This piece speaks for itself. All precious metals are tested and guaranteed. A Native American jewelry piece referred to as "silver" or "ingot" is guaranteed to be at least 90% silver. I rarely use the word "sterling" when referring to older Native American silver or really any older silver jewelry as silver contents vary and "sterling" is 92.5% silver. No older jewelry is going to be exactly 92.5% silver, some a little over, some a little under. It wasn‘t an exact thing with handmade jewelry. I‘ve seen thousands of pieces xrf‘d to prove this. 7.25" Cippy Crazy Horse Cochiti Heavy sterling silver stamped cuff bracelet. Weight and measurements in pictures, solid sterling silver with no issues. Cippy Crazy Horse Born Cipriano Quintana to renowned jewelers Terecita and Joe H. Quintana, Cippy CrazyHorse has carried on the classic traditional Pueblo design his parents started. To these classic designs, CrazyHorse brings his personal style. The bold, deep stamp and chisel designs on thick gauge silver are his trademark. Much of the thick gauge silver comes from melting scrap silver into ingots a process the “old timers incorporated. CrazyHorse says of his work, “There are traditional classic styles in silver jewelry, the Navajo and the Pueblo , and I do the latter; from cuff bracelets to concho belts, ranger set buckles and bead necklaces. Following high school, CrazyHorse attended Eastern New Mexico University in Portales for two and a half years and then served in the US Navy until 1972. Upon returning home to Cochiti, CrazyHorse worked as an electricians assistant on the construction of Cochiti Dam, but an injury in 1974 curtailed that line of work. According to CrazyHorse, the injury “forced his hand at silversmithing. He started with the smaller tasks of making silver chains and gradually taught himself the old style of silversmithing. With much support and encouragement from his father and his wife, Susan, his silversmithing began earnestly. CrazyHorse has received much recognition for his work, having garnered his share of ribbons at the Southwestern Association of Indian Arts Indian Market in Santa Fe over the course of the past 35 years. He is considered a “Master Silversmith and his work is numerous collections and books on Native American jewelry. In the August, 2008 issue of The Santa Fean, Cippy was featured as one of “Seven Standouts of Indian Market. He has been featured in many other newspaper and magazine articles over the years, and in several museum and private exhibitions throughout the country. His work is highly sought after in Japan , where his classic designs are admired as well as his dedication to a traditional lifestyle at Cochiti Pueblo. Cippy and his work are featured in the “Artists Handmade section of the April 2011 issue of the Japanese (American Western Culture) magazine, “Free and Easy. Cippy has also been a Jewelry Judge at SWAIA Indian Market a number of times, where his unique sense of humor certainly enlivens the proceedings. In 1990, along with Yazzie Johnson, he curated the jewelry exhibit Steady Hands, White Metal at the Museum of Indian Arts and Culture in Santa Fe . CrazyHorse says of his work, “When I am making something, I hope I can inspire someone somewhere to admire the simplicity of the beauty in one of my pieces. I have won awards and ribbons, but when I see or hear the appreciation and happiness my work brings to those who have pieces, it makes me want to do more.

7.25" Heavy Bruce Morgan Navajo heavy stamped sterling cuff bracelet. Weight and measurements in pics. Solid sterling silver. This is a lot thicker, heavier, interior stampings. Basically the top end of solid sterling Bruce Morgan cuff‘s you will find. Bruce Morgan Bruce Morgan (b. 1957) is an award-winning Navajo silversmith renowned for his innovative use of both silver and gold in his jewelry, particularly his signature gold overlay. Born in Rehoboth, New Mexico, and raised in Brimhall, Bruce crafted his first piece of jewelry while in high school. Following the tragic death of his aunt, a jeweler, his grandmother passed down her tools to him, encouraging him to pursue the craft. After graduating in 1976, Bruce moved to Phoenix, Arizona, and began making jewelry for others in 1978. However, the early days were challenging, leading him to take a job as a miner in a uranium mine while training to become an electrician. After a year, he was laid off and continued his education in commercial electrical work, aiming to become an electrical engineer. Realizing the physical demands of the trade were not for him, Bruce returned to jewelry making, where he sought to distinguish himself in the field. Initially focused on traditional jewelry styles featuring conchas and turquoise, he became one of the first artists to utilize the two-tone method of combining silver and gold in 1983. Notably, in 1982, he created a silver cane for the Prime Minister of Egypt. By 1983, he incorporated “traditional and simple stampwork into his pieces, solidifying his signature gold overlay style. While he admires traditional jewelry, Bruce has committed to producing gold overlay pieces, as they are quicker to make and provide unique options for everyday wear or special occasions. His rings, often chosen as wedding bands, exemplify this versatility. With exceptionally clean lines and his renowned gold overlay, Bruces work has garnered international attention, earning features in "Arizona Highways" and "Southwest Art" magazines. He continues to create beautiful jewelry to this day.

I grew up always with a fascination of the West and it took two trips and almost thirty years to finally get here. Since 1974 I have lived in the Four Corners region but it wasn‘t until 1975 that my now former wife and I were able to finally settle down in a home. We were able to find a place in Southwestern Colorado, about 35 miles southeast of Durango, Colorado. We had upon coming west, given up the fast city life of rural Cleveland, Ohio, and had no idea where we were going. We ended up in Durango, by a twist of fate. We had been trying to figure on how to earn a living while traveling around the west and by another twist we got interested in Southwestern style jewelry and that brought us to Durango, Colorado. In the year that followed we had started to produce some jewelry of our own mainly because I wanted to do something different and also because it seemed a way of staying out the mainstream of having a job!! Upon our arrival we opened a small trading post north of Durango, at a place called Purgatory, a ski area. One Winter was all it took to decide that winter in Colorado was tough. We ended up the following year on a ranch closer to Durango, where we met a lady whose name was Sally Carleno. She offered us a chance to trade her for 80 acre ranch and a small town in Colorado called Tiffany and she wanted us to make jewelry to trade her for this little place. Think about that. It was a great opportunity and we jumped on the deal, and that was in 1976. Much has taken place since then and now twenty 27 years later I am still producing jewelry and so does my former wife. We have two great kids, both born in Colorado, one in college to become a horse Vet, and the other a builder in Arizona. Kenny Bracken
