Salas, who can recite poetry in the language of the Aztecs, the mark matl, has greater meaning in its reference to the Nahuatl or Aztec word for water, atl. As a young woman, Matilde Poulat studied painting at the prestigious San Carlos academy of fine arts in Mexico city, she went on to teach painting classes at an art school until her interest turned exclusively to silver. Die Raubkatze wurde zum Eckpfeiler der „Signature Collection“ der Marke und zum Star bei der „Facets of Hope“-Veranstaltung von Jewelers for Children, die jährlich neben den Couture- und JCK-Shows in Las Vegas stattfindet. Hematian und Effy Jewelry waren langjährige Unterstützer von JFC und spendeten etwa fünf Jahre lang Plüschpanther, die sie bei der Gala verschenkten. Jan Swartz, der Gruppenpräsident der Holland America Group, schrieb auf LinkedIn: „Mr. Effy Hematian war weit mehr als einer der brillantesten Schmuckdesigner und visionären Unternehmer der Welt. „Über seine beruflichen Erfolge hinaus hatte er einen freundlichen und großzügigen Geist. Ich bewunderte sein handwerkliches Können, seine Kreativität, seine Leidenschaft und seine Liebe zu seinen Kollegen, seiner Gemeinschaft und seiner Familie. An Herrn Effy wird sich jedes Leben, das er berührt hat, noch lange erinnern, und sein Vermächtnis wird weiterleben.“ Auf Facebook sagte ein langjähriger Kunde von Effy Jewelry: „RIP Effy … Ihre Kreationen machen mich seit Jahren glücklich und werden es auch in den kommenden Jahren tun.“
