His work has been described as being ‘Contemporary in Traditional Native Design. He has an Associate of Fine Arts Degree from the Institute of American Indian Arts and a BA from the California College of Art and Design. Ken is known for his beautiful and intricately inlaid jewelry creations using semiprecious gemstones and cutting-edge designs. When he sits down to make a piece, the exact pattern of the inlay comes as he places one stone at a time and the piece takes on a life of its own. Through his work, he wants to convey the beauty and resilience of his pueblo ancestry. Many of the pieces in his inlay process take on the texture, feel, and look of a village, particularly multi-storied Taos Pueblo. Each piece is made entirely by Ken from start to finish. “I design my pieces with inlay to look and feel like a village or pueblo building. I call this my pueblo village design inlay. Les Baker (1935-2014) Armreif aus Sterlingsilber und Lapislazuli aus dem Südwesten. 8" Innenumfang, 1 3/8" breit. Les Baker, ein südwestlicher Künstler aus New Mexico, wurde 1935 geboren. Les lernte 1962 das Silberschmied, als seine Frau (heute Ex-Frau) eine Halskette mit Kürbisblüten haben wollte. Les konnte es sich nicht leisten, ihr eines zu kaufen, also ging er los und kaufte die Werkzeuge dafür. Auf einer Weihnachtsfeier fragte Frau Maisel, woher sie die Halskette habe, und er erzählte ihr, dass ihr Mann sie hergestellt habe. Von dort aus ging Les auf Wunsch von Frau Maisel zur Arbeit für die Maisels. Les hat auch für Carl Louthy, Navajo, gearbeitet. Seitdem stellen er und seine jetzige Frau Shirley Baker Schmuck aus Sterlingsilber und Türkis her, der bei Sammlern beliebt ist. Les Baker ist äußerst talentiert und zeichnet seine neuen, frei fließenden Designs zunächst auf Papier, bevor er sie in Silber kreiert. Jedes Stück ist um den Stein herum gestaltet. Sein Stil reicht von handgestempelt und repousse bis hin zu einigen seiner einzigartigsten Stücke mit frei fließenden Silberarbeiten, die an solche in der Natur erinnern. Im Laufe der Jahre haben viele Silberschmiede für ihn gearbeitet, darunter Fritson Toledo, Johnny Watson und Harry Sandoval. Les verstarb am 13. Charles Johnson Navajo Sterling Gold Filled Blautopas-Armband Keine Probleme. Charles wurde im Alter von etwa 15 Jahren von seinen Eltern im Silberschmieden unterrichtet und lernte im Sommer selbstständig weiter. Seine Eltern sind lebenslang Silberschmied, die Familie seiner Mutter besteht aus 5 Generationen und die Familie seines Vaters aus 2 Generationen. Charles arbeitet seit seinem 20. Lebensjahr hauptberuflich als Silberschmied. Im Alter von 13 Jahren begann er einige Jahre lang mit der Intarsienarbeit und lernte dabei beides. Charles begann mit traditionellem Navajo-Schmuck, wechselte dann zu zeitgenössischem Navajo-Schmuck und dann zum Western Stil mit Ausschnitten im Wirbeldesign. Der Großteil seines Schmucks besteht aus ausgeschnittenen Überzügen auf Armbändern und Schnallen mit Petroglyphen-Motiven (Anasazi-Zeichnungen). Er mag auch Armbandüberzüge im Western-Stil und Wirbeldesign. Charles' Clans sind Ashii (Salt People) und Todich'ii'nii (Bitter Water Clan).

Carmen Beckmann sold jewelry from a shop she owned and operated out of her home in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico from the 1950’s through the 1970’s. Experts believe her jewelry was produced by multiple silversmiths and her hallmark affixed to the jewelry.Her work often draws on pre-Columbian designs presented in modernist contexts. She is known for necklaces, rings, pins, brooches, and earrings that employ silver and copper decorated with jade and other semi-precious stones.It is not entirely clear what role she played in the design of work she sold, but her mark on sterling silver jewelry indicates a collectible piece.
