Tom Willeto is an acclaimed Navajo (Diné) silversmith renowned for his commitment to preserving traditional "Old Style" Southwestern metalworking techniques. Coming from an esteemed, multi-generational lineage of influential Diné artists and carvers-including celebrated folk art carvers Leonard and Robin Willeto-Tom honors his heritage by crafting jewelry that carries the unmistakable weight, soul, and authority of classic mid-century silverwork.

Tom Willeto's work is distinguished by its substantial hand-forged presence. He works primarily in heavy-gauge sterling silver, utilizing labor-intensive tufa-cast and sand-cast techniques to achieve rich, organic textures. His pieces are brought to life with deeply cut, intricate hand-stamping and finished with classic dark oxidation, creating a striking contrast that emphasizes the structural geometry of his designs.

A master lapidary, Willeto personally selects high-grade natural stones to complement his metalwork. His compositions showcase vibrant pairings of untreated turquoise, Mediterranean coral, spiny oyster shell, and iridescent mother-of-pearl, masterfully set in both classic cluster formations and intricate mosaic inlay. Balancing ancestral tradition with flawless technical skill, Tom Willeto's creations remain highly sought-after additions for discerning collectors of fine Southwestern jewelry.
