Career and Mentorship
Selina began his distinguished career in 1967 by working and studying at the renowned Hopicrafts shop. It was there that he received foundational training and mentorship from established masters, including the celebrated jeweler Bernard Dawahoya. This critical early work immersed him in the intricate, signature Hopi overlay technique.
Today, Selina is an established master craftsman. He operates his own retail outlet at Hopi Pueblo, where he not only sells his distinctive silver creations but also features the work of other talented Hopi artists. His career represents a direct lineage of the Second Mesa overlay tradition, honoring the past while maintaining an active role in the contemporary Hopi art community.
