1970's Licio Zanetti Murano Art Glass Ducks. Nice large almost life sized ducks<br>extremely heavy. I'm sure they are both signed but one had this label on the<br>base as most items in the estate did stating where they bough them and what they<br>paid for them. It has likely protected the base from scratches all these years.<br>I removed the corners just to show it wasn't chipped under the label. I felt<br>leaving it to help establish provenance was appropriate. They both measure 12.5"<br>x 13" long varying slightly as they were handmade about 50 years ago. Selling<br>both with no chips, cracks, or restorations, no scratches on top, some expected<br>shelf wear on base.<br><br>Founded in 1956, the Zanetti Vetreria Artistica by glassmaster Oscar Zanetti and<br>his son Licio. 1830's Spode Copeland Garrett Footed Comotes Pair. Selling the pair shown in the<br>most amazing condition imaginable for even 10 year old porcelain but especially<br>for 180+ year old pieces such as these. No cracks, chips, restorations, crazing,<br>wear to gilding, wear to enamel, or utensil marks. Hand painted and wonderful.<br>10.25" handle to handle x 2 7/8" tall. I'm also including a pic of an example of<br>one of these with a hairline, crazing, and some wear bringing $818.18 in an ebay<br>auction in 2010. These have great painting and strong embossing, the feet are<br>really great.<br><br>Following the death of his father Josiah Spode II in 1827, Josiah Spode III kept<br>a watching brief over the Spode works. Incapacitated by an unfortunate accident<br>at the factory in 1802, he was unable to engage in the day to day business. On<br>his death in 1829 the executors administered a long standing agreement which saw<br>William Taylor Copeland running the London retail business as well as holding<br>one quarter share in the factory. At the termination of the agreement on March<br>1, 1833, Copeland purchased the remaining shares in the factory and the London<br>business. Being greatly involved in in politics, in developing art school<br>education, and living the life of a well to do London gentleman, Copeland<br>engaged one of his senior London employees as a partner and Thomas Garrett took<br>responsibility for overseeing the smooth running of the Stoke factory.<br><br>The factory grew in size during this partnership and the production of<br>porcelain, earthenware, and stoneware continued. New shapes were added and<br>patterns and designs were influenced by the rococo revival that dominated<br>fashions in the 1830s. Copeland & Garrett's bone china and felspar porcelain<br>attracted the attention of highest echelons of society, and after her Majesty<br>Queen Victoria's accession to the throne in 1837, she acquired wares for both<br>Buckingham Palace and Windsor Castle. Despite the prominence of their porcelain<br>productions they continued to make earthenware in even larger quantities with<br>markets at home and abroad. Among their finest productions are the printed<br>patterns some of which were traditional designs from Spode's time and other<br>newer patterns introduced for the contemporary market.<br><br>After 14 years, in 1847, the partnership was dissolved and Garrett returned to<br>London while Copeland continued to run the business.<br>tw221

Les<br>learned to silversmith in 1962 when his wife at the time wanted a squash blossom<br>necklace. Les could not afford to buy one for her so he went out and bought the<br>tools to do so. At a Christmas party, Mrs. Maisel asked where she got the<br>necklace and his told her that her husband made it. From there upon request from<br>Mrs. Maisel, Les went to work for the Maisels. Vintage James Sadler Chintz Petite Fleur Miniature Teapot.<br>This is a sweet miniature teapot by James Sadler, England. The piece dates from<br>the mid 1990's. The pattern is a variation on the 'Sophie' chintz called<br>'Sweetheart' or 'Petite Fleur' chintz. The piece is made of white bone china<br>with gilded detailing on the edges, handle, and finial. Carol Kee was a Navajo Native American Artisan active in the 60's and 70's, the did other work but is most famous for her extremely collectible character pieces. She made a lot less bolo's than she did rings. Warren Cullar "Arm Chair Dreams" Acrylic on Canvas Austin Texas Listed Artist<br>12" x 16" with no issues or damage.<br><br>Warren Cullar opened his first art gallery as a senior in college. After<br>receiving a BFA in 1965, he joined a staff of six artists in a commercial ad<br>agency and as he says: “I learned more in that one year than I did in 5 years in<br>college." A bigger job was offered to him and he spent a brief career as an<br>advertising director in a large department store. A move to Mexico to study art<br>at the Instituto Allende in San Miguel de Allende was a major influence. The<br>color of Mexico is evident throughout the art he has produced during his career.<br>With an MFA degree under his belt, he received a teaching contract from Hardin<br>Simmons University in Abilene, Texas and later opened the art department at<br>Western Texas College, completing 8 years of experience as a college art<br>instructor.<br><br><br>After spending the summer of 1976 in Egypt on a study grant that he had received<br>from the college, he made the decision to become a full-time professional<br>artist. He came to the Austin area and opened an art gallery and 5 years later<br>moved into the Austin home he has now occupied for over 30 years.<br><br>Warren started his art career by selling his hand pulled stone lithographs and<br>watercolors. In the December 1978 issue of Southwest Art Magazine, he was<br>featured in an 11-page article about his art. He continued to produce<br>watercolors and enjoyed selling his work in art fairs in Texas, Colorado, and<br>California.<br><br>In 1982 he read a magazine article about the need for an adventure artist and<br>began traveling the world using his skills as an artist on scientific<br>expeditions in Peru, Brazil, Venezuela, Spain, and Easter Island, to name a few<br>of the 49 countries stamped in his passport. Warren travels the world with a<br>sketchbook and watercolors to record his impressions of the various cultures and<br>peoples he encounters.<br><br>In the early 90’s he built an 840 sq. ft. painting studio on the back of his<br>wooded property and took up acrylic painting; then he produced hand-pulled<br>serigraphs and soft ground etchings. One of his collectors asked him to create a<br>sculpture for women who had survived breast cancer. The sculpture was completed<br>and he was captivated by working with clay. That was the first bronze he had<br>created since his student days in Mexico. A large bronze commission was awarded<br>to him and a new direction emerged. Today Warren laughs at the thought that for<br>20 years painting in watercolor was all he ever wanted to do. In 2004 he built a<br>second studio dedicated to sculpture.<br><br>Today, Warren and his wife, Kitty Biel, who has a dual career as an independent<br>CPA , Cruise Planner, and Travel Agent, live and work from their spacious home,<br>two studios and sculpture garden in Austin, Texas. You can find Kitty working in<br>her treetop office on the second floor of their home and Warren creating in the<br>sculpture or painting studio.<br>alt<br><br><br>Warren is an accomplished sculptor and painter, and he extends the opportunity<br>for you to visit, explore his galleries/studios and gardens. Helen Naha (1922-1993) Feather Woman Hopi Pueblo Spider clan Ladle. 6.5" long x<br>4 1/16" wide with no damage or detectable wear. There are some numbers engraved<br>on the base and I'm not sure of their significance. They look like museum<br>collection inventory numbers but could be polished out if for some reason became<br>a distraction.<br><br>Helen Naha (1922-1993) Feather Woman was a member of the Spider Clan at Hopi<br>Pueblo Arizona. She was the daughter-in-law of Paqua Naha (the first Frog<br>Woman). She was married to Paqua’s son, Archie. At first, she followed the style<br>of her mother-in-law and her sister-in-law, Joy Navasie. She eventually<br>developed her own distinctive style, using black and red paint on a white slip<br>to create bold designs. Often, she would take the effort and time to polish the<br>inside of a bowl as well as the outside. Both of her daughters, Sylvia and<br>Rainy, as well as her granddaughter, Tyra Naha, have followed in her footsteps.<br>tw250

Nice Heavy forged iron betty lamp. 3 1/8" x 4.25" x 10.25" to tip of hanger fully extended. Some expected pitting but all here with no holes. This early betty lamp burned grease for lighting in the 19th century. It is called a 'betty lamp' which comes from the word 'besser' in German (meaning better). Far superior to the rushlight or splint lamp, it evolved from the crusie lamp with the addition of a cover and a wick support which ensured that any oil/grease drippings from the wick flowed back into the reservoir. The betty lamp was probably the most widely used means of lighting among people of middle or lower income until refined whale oil became common. It burned any fat or oil that was available virtually without smell or smoke, using a twisted cotton wick. B70
