c1900 Dresden Flowers Hand Painted Bread Basket and Heart shaped bowl. Selling both pieces shown. The heart dish is 8.25" x 6 5/8" x 1 7/8". It has one tiny flake on the top left of the heart sharp corner shown in bottom left of second pic. It's really difficult to see, not a distraction. Some gold wear to both, no other cracks, chips, or restorations. Bread basket is 9 3/8" long.The term "Dresden porcelain" refers more to an artistic movement than a particular line of figurines or dinnerware. Several decorating studios emerged in this Saxony capital in response to the rise of "Romanticism" during the 19th century. Dresden was an important center of this artistic, cultural and intellectual movement, which attracted painters, sculptors, poets, philosophers and porcelain decorators alike.
