The Gulf Coast Lines was the name of a railroad system comprising<br>three principal railroads, as well as some smaller ones, that stretched from New<br>Orleans, Louisiana via Baton Rouge and Houston to Brownsville, Texas. Originally<br>chartered as subsidiaries of the Frisco Railroad, the system became independent<br>in 1916 and was purchased by the Missouri Pacific Railroad in 1925.[3]<br><br>The parent company of the independent Gulf Coast Lines was the New Orleans,<br>Texas and Mexico Railway, incorporated in Louisiana on February 28, 1916, which<br>bought the property and assets of the Frisco-owned New Orleans, Texas and Mexico<br>Railroad. The NOT&M was headquartered in New Orleans, and owned or leased a<br>number of other railroads in Louisiana and Texas, operating them all together as<br>the Gulf Coast Lines. Nice piece with clean paint with minimal wear shown in pics. Heavy for it's size as it's solid bronze, almost two pounds. 5' base x 3 1/8" tall. I couldn't find any markings but am certain it's turn of the century austrian bronze most likely bergman. Franz Bergman was an Austrian entrepreneur best known for his Viennese foundry which produced many patina- and cold-painted bronze sculptures of figures, animals, Orientalist scenes, and mythological creatures. Bergman is often misidentified as a sculptor, but he himself was not the original artist for the works—rather, he hired many anonymous sculptors to execute his ideas. He signed many of the works produced by his foundry with the pseudonym Nam Greb, so as to conceal his name from the authorities and avoid penalties for immorality. Born in 1861 in Vienna, Austria, he initially inherited a bronze factory from his father and later opened his own foundry. Bergman died in 1936 in Vienna, Austria

Rose Gonzales (1900-1989), San Ildefonso Pueblo Wide Bowl with Carved Avanyu.<br>6.5" wide x 4 3/8" wide. No cracks, chips, or restorations. As found estate<br>fresh condition with some minor scuffs and that green florist stuff in interior.<br><br>In the 1920s, Rose learned first how to make polished blackware. She then<br>learned the new technique of black-on-black pottery, using a matte black paint<br>for designs. Rose also learned the older technique of black-on-red pottery, most<br>associated with Tonita Martinez Roybal (1892-1945) Antonita and her mother. Rose<br>was credited as the innovator of deep carved pottery around 1930 at San<br>Ildefonso. Rose Gonzales sometimes collaborated with her son, Tse-Pé, especially<br>in duotones. Rose signed her pottery, Rose Cata, Rose Cata Gonzales, and Rosa<br>Gonzales.

Barbers made their own hair tonic and other hair products or bought them in large containers and poured them into their own barber bottles. Most barber bottles weren’t labeled, but the barber knew what was inside each bottle because of its shape and color. Some were made for specific customers and were labeled with the customer’s name. Most have a bulbous bottom and thin neck. The bottles were made in cranberry, cut, hobnail, milk, opalescent, spatter, vaseline and other types of art glass in many colors. Most were blown. Look for a pontil mark on the bottom of the bottle. The stopper is also a good clue to the bottle’s use. If it has a sprinkler top, it’s not a liquor bottle. The Pure Food and Drugs Act of 1906 made it illegal to use refillable bottles without labels in a barbershop, and the bottles were no longer used.

c1960 Mid Century Gravel Art Girl with Poodle. 12" x 20". The outside part that's not colored is all crushed shells. She looks to be missing a few eyelashes, that's the only issue I can see. These rocks are stuck on really well, approximately 50 years old.

Antique Hand Painted Porcelain Dessert Set 13pc 1850's no cracks, chips, restorations, utensil marks, minor wear to Gilding on rims. 2 of each design 5.75" bowl, large bowl is 13 7/8" x 8 3/8". At this time I'm uncertain of manufacturer, not even sure if it's French or Bohemian. I guarantee it to be one of the two and close to mid 19th century.

Alfred J Bennett(1861-1923) British Pencil Signed Engraving Westminster Abbey. 17.75" x 13" framed. Slight discoloration only visible on border, clean frame. Alfred John Bennett (1861 – c.1923) was an Englishartist who worked in oils, watercolour and etching. Life and work Bennett was born in London which became a major source of inspiration to the artist. His paintings, drawings and etchings, more often than not, depicted well known landmarks of the capital city. In December 1889 Bennett married Catherine Avery (They had one daughter, Mary Catherine) and spent a short amount of time living with her family in East Hyde, Bedfordshire.[1] During this period Bennett worked as a Jeweller, whilst also regularly submitting paintings to the Royal Academy of which four were exhibited between 1861-1880.[1][2] After this success, Bennett left the jewellery trade and concentrated on his art, first moving to Thornton Heath, Surrey and then relocating his studio to Knebworth.[3][4] Exhibitions Bennett exhibited extensively, regularly contributing work to the Royal Watercolour Society (17 pictures) and British Institution (2 pictures) exhibitions.[2] A further painting titled The Hill Farm was exhibited at the Royal Academy in 1916, and he achieved more success with solo and joint shows at the prestigious Walker's Gallery in New Bond Street, London in 1918 and 1923.[4] In addition, he also exhibited works at the Fine Art Society, New English Art Club, Grosvenor Gallery, International Society, and the Royal Institute of Oil Painters.[3] Many of Bennett's works are found in public art collections, including two watercolours in the collection of Brighton Museum & Art Gallery.
