1970's Austin Texas watercolor "the Preacher's car" By Robert William"Windy" Winn. 12" x 16" sight 19" x 23" framed. Windy Winn was one of the co-founders of the Waterloo Watercolor Group in 1977. Painting is clean with no issues. Some wear to frame. It was local personality Cactus Pryor who introduced Wings wife Babs to his high school buddy, Windy. Jake Pickle and Windy were partners in the 1950s, handling political and advertising campaigns. Babs and Windy had a lot of fun together. They were original "founding" members of Austin Civic Theater (now the Zachary Scott Theater). They acted, danced, sang, directed and wrote plays, promoted the Austin Civic Theatre and organized the Laa Gloria Art Fiesta. He attended Austin High School in Austin, TX. In 1942, he enlisted in the US Navy and attended San Diego State university where he was editor of the Navy Base newspaper before being shipped out. When he returned, he worked briefly as a graphic artist for the Austin American Statesman newspaper and teamed with former US Rep Jake Pickle and Ed Eyers to form the advertising agency Eyers, Pickle and Winn in 1947.
