Beverly Etsate is an acclaimed Zuni Inlay artist. Bev is the daughter of revered Zuni artists Rosalie and Augustine Pinto. Bev continues her parents tradition of inlaid jewelry by producing jewelry in the same style as her elders. As she had learned from her parents she has been a teacher to her two sons Carl Etsate a fetish carver and Todd Etsate as well as her daughter Tracy Bowekaty, a jewelry maker who is also following in her mothers and grandparents paths.


She has over 40 years of experience in her craft. Over that time, she has become one of Zuni‘s foremost jewelers.

Her work ranges through all the traditional techniques of Zuni: mosaic inlay, raised inlay, animated, pictorial inlay, and also needlepoint. She creates overlay and inlay figures, blossoms, holiday themes, corn style inlay, and needlepoint. Some of her favorite designs are kachinas, mudheads and bears. A great sense of humor is evident in many of her holiday pieces.
