25" Qianlong Chinese Export to Dutch market clobbered urn. 40-50 year old label<br>to the underside reads as follows: C. R. Fenton & Co. Ltd. Beachy Road, Old<br>Ford, E3 Gundry, an English antique shipper mentioned by noted Manhattan and Sag<br>Harbor antique dealer J. Garvin Mecking in his Guide to London's Best Shops.<br><br>25" tall with lid x 12" wide, large and wonderful. In the 18th century, there<br>was a high demand for polychrome wares because Imari had become very popular.<br>Blue and white Chinese porcelain was sent to the Netherlands and England to be<br>over-painted. Once there, the porcelain was repainted and then refired and the<br>colors became permanent. The original blue and white designs are still under the<br>enamel.<br>No cracks, chips, or restorations, some expected wear to gilding and enamel.
