Welcome to our humble Mom, Pop, and Baby store! Since we are a small operation we do not meet the thresholds to collect sales tax in any state but our own (Texas). If you are visiting after a conversation with me on Etsy or Ebay, the Item(s) you are looking for will be under the exact same title and the search box in the top center works really well. If you are "cold searching" for something I have found that "Less is more" when using the search box. Example: If you are searching for Size 7 rings, the most effective thing to do is type "sz7" in the search box (with no spaces). If you want size 7.25, 7.5, etc. to come up then don't put it in quotes. The same goes for bracelets, if you are looking for 6"(inside circumference) cuff bracelets just enter " 6" cuff" into the search box. From my experience adding more words leave out important search results and bring unrelated search results to the top. Then you have the ability to sort it high to low price, etc. It's tough organizing an inventory this size. We do a lot of business and we are so grateful for that, but for the most part we are high volume/low profit and still can't seem to get ahead enough to afford help. Thank you so much for taking the time to look at my stuff and considering taking some of it off my hands. Also if you have any questions or suggestions I'd love to hear them... Ian

  • Myrtle Lillian Stedman (1908 - 2007) 1931 Houston Texas Watercolor of Southern wom - Estate Fresh Austin

Myrtle Lillian Stedman (1908-2007) 1931 Houston Texas Watercolor of Southern wom

    1 in stock

Myrtle Lillian Stedman (1908-2007) 1931 Houston Texas Watercolor of Southern woman of color Feeding chickens. This is a really great watercolor from 1931 when she was living in Houston Texas and attending the Houston Museum of Fine Arts School. I personally find it extremely refreshing to find a picture from this era depicting a woman of color just "doing her thing" in a non derogatory fashion. 9.25" x 11.5" sight in a 15.5" x 18" frame. No issues with painting or frame. It's behind museum glass. It came with a note that I seem to have lost but it was just a pre-internet explanation of the importance of the artist with notes of when it was reframed behind museum glass. Myrle is more famous for her New Mexico landscapes, I personally find this one very interesting and refreshing. Myrtle Stedman was known as an “Artist in Adobe,” designing, building, and remodeling adobe homes under a contractor’s license. She was also a well-know artist whose academic training started in 1927 when she was a student in the Houston Museum of Fine Arts school. Myrtle Stedman - Santa Fe Living Treasures http://sflivingtreasures.org/index.php/treasures/131-stedman-myrtle-.html Myrtle Stedman A painter, a poet, and a writer, Myrtle Stedman is best known for the work in adobe restoration and design she began shortly after arriving in Tesuque in 1934, with her artist husband, Wilfred Stedman. Napier Sterling Mid Century Modernist Link bracelet. Great looking bracelet with<br>no damage or significant wear 27.4 grams.<br><br>The Napier Company got its start in North Attleboro, Massachusetts 1878, under<br>the name of The E. A. Bliss Co., manufacturing gilt men's watch chains. In 1882,<br>the company became incorporated as The E. A. Bliss Company with the word "The"<br>as part of its legal name. The company relocated to Meriden, Connecticut in<br>1890, after the company sustained rapid growth in the previous decade. During<br>World War I (and again in World War II), they ceased production of jewelry, and<br>instead focused on producing war-related items, such as medallions and medals.<br>James H. Napier became president of the company in 1920, and the company was<br>renamed, The Napier-Bliss Co. In 1922, the company again changed its name to The<br>Napier Co.<br><br>Timeline<br>The company was known for its ability to be on the forefront of fashion and<br>design and had a history of sending its designers to Europe. In 1925, James<br>Napier attended the World's Fair Exposition Internationale des Artes Decoratifs<br>et Industriels Modernes in Paris, and brought back with him business ideas,<br>including designs influenced by Parisian and European fashion. Mr. Napier<br>himself, did not design jewelry. James Napier work for the company from 1914 to<br>his death in 1960. From 1920 to 1960 he served as president. In 1999, the<br>company was bought by Victoria & Company. The plant in Meriden, Connecticut was<br>closed by Victoria & Company on October 15, 1999. However, under the umbrella of<br>Jones Apparel Group, Napier jewelry is still being manufactured and distributed.<br><br>Jewelry designs<br>In the 1920s and 1930s, Napier designed necklaces, bracelets and earrings in a<br>range of styles including, designs featuring Egyptian motifs, such as cobras,<br>Victorian Revival designs and Deco-style motifs. The company produced very<br>little jewelry during the 1930s, focusing on its giftware lines. In the 1940s,<br>most of the jewelry produced was sterling silver tailored pieces. In the 1950s,<br>it produced jewelry in a wide range of styles. Napier jewelry is notable for its<br>simple, modern, geometric and floral designs. However, the company also produce<br>boutique and high-end jewelry. Some of the metalwork bears resemblance to<br>Mexican and Scandinavian designs. The fan jewelry collection was introduced as a<br>10-year fundraising commitment in 1955. In the 1950s, the Napier Company<br>presented First Lady Mamie Eisenhower with a bracelet bearing an elephant<br>design, which was reputedly one of her favorite pieces of jewelry, and which she<br>wore often, and the Napier Company gifted the contestants of the 1955 Miss<br>America Pageant with fashion jewelry.<br><br>Historical silver designs<br>Napier silver designs from the first half of the 20th century are in museum<br>collections including the Brooklyn Museum, Newark Museum and a substantial<br>collection at the Dallas Museum of Art. Over the years, Napier silver has been<br>featured in museum exhibitions, including Modernism in American Silver: 20th<br>Century Design at the Smithsonian in Washington, the Dallas Museum of Art, the<br>Wolfsonian in Miami Beach, the Nevada Museum of Art in Reno, and the Dixon<br>Gallery and Gardens in Memphis, TN (2005–07). All precious metals are tested and guaranteed. A Native American jewelry piece referred to as "silver" or "ingot" is guaranteed to be at least 90% silver. I rarely use the word "sterling" when referring to older Native American silver or really any older silver jewelry as silver contents vary and "sterling" is 92.5% silver. No older jewelry is going to be exactly 92.5% silver, some a little over, some a little under. It wasn‘t an exact thing with handmade jewelry. I‘ve seen thousands of pieces xrf‘d to prove this. Bracelets are photographed on a 6" women‘s wrist.

  • Navajo Ray Tracey Knifewing modernist Sterling Inlaid Earrings - Estate Fresh Austin

Navajo Ray Tracey Knifewing modernist Sterling Inlaid Earrings

    1 in stock

Navajo Ray Tracey Knifewing Modernistic Inlaid Earrings 1.25" wide square. Light scratches, no deep scratches, bends, or damage to stones. The Creative Process Fueled by Inspiration “God blesses everyone with a variety of gifts and talents.” The Creator blessed Ray with the spirit of Creativity. Inspiration is the basis for his creative spirit. Inspiration arrives in many forms and disguises when least expected. Hiking the canyons of the Southwest, where his ancestors did the same, gives Ray a feeling of reverence. Walking in peace with gratitude and thanksgiving opens up the senses to receive ideas. Petroglyphs carved on canyon walls turns into wearable art. Stories from an ancient past are re-lived on the faces of Yei pendants. The evening sky’s transformation of color inspired the Earth and Sky jewelry line. Once while golfing, a white butterfly landed on Ray’s golf bag and accompanied him down the fairway. This incident brought the Butterfly and Dragonfly design concept to reality. Having awareness of this special gift, he aspires to know the origin. Artist Ray Tracey has had a life-long love of jewelry. As a child growing up in Sawmill, AZ, Asa Tracey, his Grandfather, influenced him with his stories of working the goat bellows for his uncle. Asa would pump the goat bellows all day long to fuel the fire in the forge that would melt silver in a small cast iron crucible. This process was very labor intensive and his grandfather hated it. The molten silver would then be poured into a tufa stone mold to form an ingot. The jeweler would then execute his craft and a new piece of jewelry would be created. “I wanted to see finished jewelry and wanted to learn everything I could. Whenever we would go to Gallup, NM, I would visit curio stores to see creations in silver.” Ray spent time viewing jewelry designs at the Gallup Intertribal Indian Ceremonial and at the Navajo Nation Fair. Anywhere, there was jewelry on display; Ray could be seen viewing the works of art. Ray’s family moved to Ganado, AZ when he was six years old. One summer day when he was nine years old, he complained to his mother of how bored he was. The next day his mother enrolled him into summer school and changed his life forever. He went straight to art class and found a silver smithing table in the corner. He remembered his grandfather’s stories and the rest is history.  “In class I fabricated my first ring out of silver for my Mother. I found an unknown stone and made a cabochon. I tried to copy an old style ring design that I had seen at Hubbells Trading Post. One teardrop flanked the sides of the stone. It was a very simple design but it took me a week to finish. I kept melting the silver. I made my next silver and stone creation at the age of 21 and gave it to my mother. It was another ring, but this time it was a split shank with three ribs and three tear drops on the side of the stone.” I told my father, I want to make jewelry for the rest of my life.” Ray continued making jewelry while attending Brigham Young University. Studying chemistry and physics by day and making jewelry at night. “The designs were simple, my first love was Old Style Navajo jewelry. Weekends were spent traveling to Gallup, NM, to sell his work. While at BYU another opportunity arose to express his creativity—acting. “I wasn’t a very good student so Hollywood had an instant appeal. My gift of creativity carried over into acting. Acting was just another outlet of creative expression.” His adventurous nature allowed Ray to spend several years as an actor in feature films and television. This acting detour never made him lose interest in jewelry design. Eventually, Ray’s love of jewelry brought him back to New Mexico to permanently pursue this art form. “One time while traveling to Albuquerque from Gallup, I noticed the horizon over Laa Pueblo. I saw steps on a mesa. I incorporated this imagery of tiered steps into a bracelet design.” “Another time, while golfing at Hobble Creek Golf Course, I saw pebbles aligned in a  row on the river bottom. Those pebbles became my inspiration to place them on the sides of an inlaid bracelet.” “Sometimes my creativity comes to a screeching halt. When this happens I go to my roots; Old Style jewelry. That is the place of fascination. The Old Ones utilized rudimentary tools to create their simple, yet perfected, pieces of craftsmanship. From this point I am able to create from an inspiring idea. On the flip side, sometimes my mind becomes flooded with more designs than I can remember. Ideas come so quickly I can’t draw them fast enough.” “When I see someone wearing one of my designs, it takes me back to the time when the piece was created. Sometimes I can recall what I was eating or even the music I was listening to. I will remember the inspiration that helped create that design.” Ray has found his path or gift of self-expression that has blessed, enlightened, and influenced his life and others. Awareness of this special gift, fuels his energy and creativity. Inspiration helps to translate his creativity into artistic-visual expression. His creations stand as transitional figures from traditional to contemporary.  He creates something good as he is drawn toward untouched fields of yet-to-be-discovered imagery. Unknowingly he is creating a legacy from which generations can learn and grow. Ray has learned to appreciate and embrace the journey of life and its gifts.

It wasn't an exact thing with handmade jewelry. I've seen thousands of pieces xrf'd to prove this. Bracelets are photographed on a 6" women's wrist.

Nelson Garcia - Kewa Sterling and high grade turquosie pendant

    1 in stock

Nelson Garcia - Kewa Sterling and high grade turquosie pendant. No issues, weight and measurements in pics. Nelson Garcia is a very competent silversmith that uses the best materials and does extremely clean/high end work as is hopefully evident here. <br><br>Nelson Garcia was born October sixth, 1955 in the village of Santo Domingo Pueblo, New Mexico. He was raised in a large family made up of four brothers and four sisters. One of the eldest, he matured early and with a good heart, shared in the responsibilities of his youth. From working in the fields with his brothers or watching the trade of his father, the seeds of perfection were sown.<br><br>His father, Joe Jay Garcia, was a silversmith with talents in traditional designs and Heishi necklaces. From studying his fathers workmanship more than a talent was formed. Nelson learned that any job can be completed but if not done correctly, it is a pointless task. In his grade school years he created his first works. Buying silver from his uncle, he would make silver cones that are used as the ending tips to a Heishi necklace. Once completed, he would walk throughout the village selling his silver cones to the many artists. Who knew that these elements would lay foundations to greater achievements in the years to come.<br><br>After high school Nelson said farewell to the comforts of home and in 1974 moved to Phoenix, Arizona. In school and full of optimism, he would begin the next chapter to his life. He started working in a local jewelry store as a silversmith. Once again studying his surroundings, this experience would give him the momentum to go into business for himself. As time passed, like every man he would find his happiness. In 1975 he married his wife Helen, a Navajo from the Naakaii Dinee clan. A year later his first child was born, a daughter whom they would name Coreen. To any business the early years define character and will. In 1983 with a newborn son, AAron, he decided to go into business for himself. With his creations packed and loaded into his car he drove to Page, Arizona for his first Art show. That Saturday he would make his first sale as an independent artist. Sadly, that would be his only sale for that day. One ring, in which he had to debate the price, but was finally sold. With a fresh fourteen dollars in hand, one would think dread would set in. Showing resilience he drove the next day to the Coconino center in Flagstaff, Arizona. This bold step would define his business ethic. He would attend this next art show with high hopes and patient hands. Driving home later that night with four-hundred eighty dollars in his pocket, his American dream had become a reality.<br><br> As the years have passed, Nelson has won many distinguished awards at some of the nations largest art exhibits. From the Santa Fe Indian Market to Red Earth in Oklahoma city. His jewelry has traveled into the heart of Europe with shows in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. He has formed relationships of trust with his many customers in the western world. Assured perfection in his work is what should be expected. Only selecting the finest stones and designing the most careful expressions. He lives a life of success in Phoenix to this day with his wife and family. Niels Erik From Sterling Denmark MCM Atomoic bracelet/pin set. 7" long bracelet, weight and measurements in pics. No issues. Danish jeweller and silversmith Niels Erik From ( N.E. From) was born in 1908 and opened his first workshop in 1931 when he was still only twenty-three . Over the next forty years Niels Erik went on to become one one of the greats of Danish design, and created many works including floral-inspired designs often set with semi-precious gemstones.
