He learned his jewelry making techniques from the Navajo silversmiths around Taos, NM, and is renowned for his modernist inlay cuff bracelets, belt buckles, and earrings. Some of his materials were obtained in trade with Eskimos living in the Alaskan tundra. He also created distinctive wrap inlay designs using turquoise, red jasper, black onyx, and other semiprecious stones. Jack Woolsey passed away in 2005, at the age of 64.

His father, the renowned silversmith, Roger Skeet, Sr. was one of the famed Indian trader, C.G. Wallaces primary in-house Navajo silversmiths along with such other accomplished luminaries as Austin Wilson and Ambrose Roanhorse. Skeet Sr. worked for Wallace at his landmark trading post at the Zuni Pueblo in far Western New Mexico for approximately 30 years from the late 1920s until his death in 1959. Roger Skeet, Jr. was born in 1933 and he began making silver alongside his Father in Wallaces trading post as an eight year-old boy. The silverwork of both the Skeets is quite similar, clean-lined and very traditionally-crafted but with a distinctly modern sensibility and always extremely fine detailing. Paul Livingston was born in 1954 and has spent his entire life on the Navajo Church Rock Reservation, where he grew up watching with fascination as his silversmith Uncle crafted raw metal and stone into beautiful jewelry. Through trial and error and a great deal of help from his Uncle, Paul became an accomplished young jewelry maker. By the time he was twenty-two he was ready to launch himself full time into silversmithing. Paul Livingstonis an acclaimed Navajo silversmith who favors substance in his metal work and high-quality, natural stones in all his settings. Today, nearly forty years later, Paul is a nationally known and collected jewelry artist. He is particularly known for a style of jewelry most silversmiths shy away from a technique known as ‘cluster and row work where multiple tiny stones are used together to form a delicate, colorful designs in jewelry. Paul is happy to work with the little stones, even the tiny round “snake eye ones and is renowned for how exquisitely aligned the stone clusters and rows of stones are on his pieces. Even at his age Paul continues to experiment with new jewelry techniques and design styles. He is a fifth-generation silversmith. Born and raised on the Navajo Reservation in Arizona, Harry Morgan began casting jewelry at age seven. His mother Louise inspired him to make jewelry in the old style.The Navajo Tribe offered him a four-year scholarship in engineering, but being a rodeo cowboy was his dream, at the time. He ultimately returned to his passion for silversmithing, and became a silversmith in 1965. He spent most of his life in the Gallup, NM area, and at one point opened a jewelry supply store in Crownpoint, NM.He also operated a smithing studio, and employed many smiths who would also emulate the classic revival style. One of those employed was well-known silversmith Kirk Smith. Many of Harry Morgans stamps were inherited from his parents and uncle, or made by him.Harry Morgan was married to Navajo silversmith Betty Joe, and is the nephew of accomplished silversmiths Charlie Bitsue and Ike Wilson. Stamped on both the bezel and the bracelet.Wayne Wolf Robe Hunt, a full-blood Acoma Indian (1905-1977). Born on the Acoma Reservation, Wolf Robe was the son of Chief Day Break (Edward Proctor Hunt), Chief of the Delight Makers -- a man instrumental in the improvement of relations between the Acomas and whites. His mother, Morning Star, whose own father was Governor of Acoma seven times, was a potter and weaver. Wolf Robe learned silver-smithing from his older brother on the reservation. Wolf Robe achieved recovnition and fame for his jewelry and art work, winning the prestigious Philbrook Art Center's Grand Award in 1967. In addition, he was a businessman, with his own arts and crafts store in Tulsa, a lecturer, international traveller, author, and translator for the Bureau of American Ethnology. He assited L. A. White in his extensive studies of the Acoma Indians and made recordings for the National Anthropological Archives. Wolf Robe was particularly interested in the preservation of tribal customs, language and culture, and devoted his own time to this and the encouragement of others in similar efforts.
