I believe the Tufa casting was done by H Jim and possibly the inlay work done by another extremely skilled artist that I didn‘t attempt to identify. Harrison Jim is Navajo and a member of the Red House Clan. Born and raised in Gallup, New Mexico. Growing up, he was exposed to the traditional arts through his aunt and grandmother who often wore beautiful pieces and would also weave rugs at home. This early exposure sparked a strong interest in the arts for him. Harrison honed his skills by apprenticing under renowned jewelers such as John Hall, Tommy Jackson, and McKee Platero. These mentors not only taught him the technical aspects of jewelry making, but also instilled in him a deep respect for the traditional Navajo methods and materials. Harrison also pursued formal training through various workshops and classes to further refine his craft. Harrison has developed a unique style that sets his work apart from others in the industry. He blends traditional Navajo techniques with contemporary designs, resulting in pieces that are both modern and rooted in tradition. His attention to detail and use of high quality materials have earned him a loyal following among collectors and admirers alike. His designs are reflective of bright stars in the New Mexico nights and his geometric forms, of the landscape. With his sleek and contemporary shapes and designs, he manages to balance the flavor of tradition along with his stylized approach to Indian imagery. The colorful and innovative inlays in his jewelry are inspired by the natural gifts that Mother Earth and Father Sky provide to each and every one of us.

sz10 Kevin Yazzie Navajo Bisbee turquoise tufa cast sterling silver ring. Nice contemporary ring with high grade natural Bisbee spiderweb turquoise. Kevin Yazzie Kevin Yazzie began making jewelry in 2014. Kevin worked at several different jobs while in school at New Mexico University. One day Aaron Anderson was in the store Kevin was working and told him to stop by his shop and see if he liked jewelry making He started hanging out at his studio. Kevin watched everything to see how he did it. Before going to Aaron’s shop he didn’t know anything about jewelry making. He gave Kevin some tufa stone and told him to start carving. His first piece was terrible. It was supposed to be a small pendant and it weighed over three ounces. His depths were really messed up and he had no idea what he was doing. He was embarrassed to take any more of Aaron’s tufa stone so he went to Thunderbird and bought his own. Kevin started to work on a bracelet which came out really nice and I sold it online for $230. “Creating jewelry is really rewarding and I want to keep doing this.”

Howard began working with his older brother, David, and eventually mastered the technique of traditional Navajo jewelry styles. His 3-ply contemporary appliqués overlay jewelry has garnered numerous awards including ribbons at the Annual Intertribal Ceremonial in Gallup, New Mexico and the Santa Fe Market. Often Howard chooses to incorporate the inlay technique using the turquoise, coral, lapis, sugilite and other quality gemstones. I grew up always with a fascination of the West and it took two trips and almost thirty years to finally get here. Since 1974 I have lived in the Four Corners region but it wasn‘t until 1975 that my now former wife and I were able to finally settle down in a home. We were able to find a place in Southwestern Colorado, about 35 miles southeast of Durango, Colorado. We had upon coming west, given up the fast city life of rural Cleveland, Ohio, and had no idea where we were going. We ended up in Durango, by a twist of fate. We had been trying to figure on how to earn a living while traveling around the west and by another twist we got interested in Southwestern style jewelry and that brought us to Durango, Colorado. In the year that followed we had started to produce some jewelry of our own mainly because I wanted to do something different and also because it seemed a way of staying out the mainstream of having a job!! Upon our arrival we opened a small trading post north of Durango, at a place called Purgatory, a ski area. One Winter was all it took to decide that winter in Colorado was tough. We ended up the following year on a ranch closer to Durango, where we met a lady whose name was Sally Carleno. She offered us a chance to trade her for 80 acre ranch and a small town in Colorado called Tiffany and she wanted us to make jewelry to trade her for this little place. Think about that. It was a great opportunity and we jumped on the deal, and that was in 1976. Much has taken place since then and now twenty 27 years later I am still producing jewelry and so does my former wife. We have two great kids, both born in Colorado, one in college to become a horse Vet, and the other a builder in Arizona. Kenny Bracken

His bold and clean designs along with the precise matting or texture he worked into the negative areas of this pieces, made his work easily recognizable. His Hopi name was Masaqueva (Wings of the sun). He was born in the second Mesa village of Shungopavi. Not only a master jeweler, but a respected storyteller and a man of great talents. He passed away in 2010. His work is displayed in Museums across the country and in many publications.

Pat Areias Southwestern sterling silver 3/4" Ranger belt buckle set. Vintage set with some expected wear but no significant issues. Fits up to 3/4" ranger belt. Ranger belts are wider and taper down at the buckle/keepers/tip. Last hole is at 30", more holes could be added or it could of course be worn shorter.

All Cuff bracelets on the Estate Fresh Austin website will have the size wrist they fit (in inches) including the gap at the beginning of the title, there are also many photos in this listing which will show a tape measure inside the bracelet, gap size, width, etc. 6.5" Vintage Zuni ingot/sterling silver turquoise channel inlay cuff bracelet. Tested and guaranteed solid sterling silver with weight and measurements in pictures. Circa second quarter of the 20th century with age appropriate wear.. All stones secure with some old fractures. Bracelets are shown in the photos with a tape measure inside the bracelet, other photos will typically show the gap size. The size at the beginning of the title includes the gap. Almost all bracelets that don‘t have inlay work should be adjustable by at least .25", please refer to pictures for the gap size to see if it would work if slightly adjusted as the gap would change.
