Tested and guaranteed solid sterling silver with weight and measurements in photos, no issues. circa last quarter of the 20th century.  Kelvin was born November 5th, 1958 in Ebbenflow, Manitoba, which is located in the central region of Canada.    Saulteaux Nation Kelvin has been carving since 1978. He worked with Barry Wilson on wooden panels for the Vancouver Indian Centre. In the early 80s, Kelvin worked with Derek Wilson carving silver and gold jewelry and he apprenticed under Henry Robertson working on totem poles and panels, which are on display at the Vancouver Indian Centre. Kelvin is of Saulteaux decent, but he grew up with the influence of west coast people. Henry Robertson, Barry Wilson and Derek Wilson are of the Henaaksala people, a branch of the Haisla nation. Kelvin was adopted into this family. Kelvin’s designs whether in gold, silver, ivory or wood reflect his attention to detail and superb craftsmanship. He is very aware of his native culture and hopes that through his artwork he is able to help preserve and pass on the Northwest coast native culture.

Some expected wear, weight and measurements in pictures.Hopi artist Lewis Lomay. (1913-1996). He began his career in jewelry in the 1930's and learned silversmithing at Santa Fe Indian School under renowned artist Ambrose Roanhorse. Lewis then went to work for jeweler Frank Patania in Santa Fe NM for 13 years. His designs were both traditional Hopi with a touch of European influence combining his time as an apprentice under both Ambrose and Frank.

Leekya Deyuse was Robert’s father, while Bernice’s parents were Warren and Doris Ondelacy. Bernice’s sister was the renowned Zuni artist, Alice Quam. They began making jewelry together in 1953, the year they were married. Robert and Bernice share their RLB stamp.

SZ7 vintage Lucy Ceshu Zuni sterling silver magpie channel inlay ring. Tested and guaranteed solid sterling silver, circa third quarter of the 20th century. Some expected wear, weight and measurements in pictures. Unmarked.Lucy Ceshu (1933-2004) was a Zuni jeweler who worked with her husband Quincy Panteah to create high quality stone-to-stone inlay. The multi-stone inlay magpie is her signature design. This lovely magpie ring is a testament to Ceshu’s talent as a lapidary artist. The bird’s head is black jet and white shell. The body consists of precisely cut pieces of turquoise, coral, jet and white shell. Within the white shell she placed small slivers of jet. All of the stonework was set in fine handmade sawtooth bezels. Silver balls were added as accents on the ends of the beak and feathers. The piece is unsigned, but the work is distinctively that of Lucy Ceshu.
