c1890 William B Kerr American Sterling Call card Case/Wallet. Rare and unusual in fantastic condition with minor scratches below center hand etched design
which could either be an organization or initials I'm not sure but it's fancy
and wonderful. Weighs 128.3 grams, it's thick and heavy. Faint Hatchet hallmark
shown, I believe it's William B Kerr as they used similar designs. 4 7/8" tall x
3 3/8" wide. I've not seen this exact design before but my guess is the leather
wore out on most of them, this one is particularly well preserved and could be
used for credit cards and money.

Began as Kerr & Thiery in 1855. Kerr's hallmark was a fasces - a single-bit axe
with rods bound with straps. They used this trademark of Ancient Rome origin
from 1855 until 1892. Other hallmarks include a hammer, and three "X" marks.
Purchased by Gorham Corporation in 1906
