Description
Swedish Gustavsberg Mid Century Sterling overlay green pottery vase 4" tall and wide with no cracks, chips, crazing, loss to silver, or restorations. I think my color is a little off in the pics, it's a little greener. Gustavsberg is a Swedish porcelain company that originated in 1826. It broke up in the 1990s and was sold off in pieces, to the dismay of residents of the Gustavsberg area. Wilhelm Kåge (1889-1960) is one of the most well-known representatives of the illustrious Swedish ceramic design of the 20th century. He was the artistic leader for Gustavsberg in the 1930s and 1940s and is often called the father of Swedish modernism. Kage is represented at the Swedish National Museum of Art and Design.
