c1820 Chinese Famille Rose small coffee cups. Selling the three cups shown 2.75" tall x 2 5/8" wide at rim. The left cup has a crowsfoot on footrim that doesn't penetrate the interior of the cup. Center cup has a tight hairline that extends most of the way down. The orange flower cup has a professional restoration to the rim. I didn't see either of these things until I was photographing/describing for listing and looked them over well previous to that. Antique English Cameo glass cup and saucer with butterfly/Chinoisiere decoration. Late 19th to very early 20th century, unmarked. Saucer is 4 7/8" wide, cup 3.25" wide. No damage or restorations.Cameo glass is a luxury form of glass art produced by cameo glass engraving or etching and carving through fused layers of differently colored glass to produce designs, usually with white opaque glass figures and motifs on a dark-colored background. I've seen<br>them bring around 1k each on multiple occasions and have seen some marked on<br>underside "Drogueria Belga Mexico" verifying my statement. These are not stamped<br>like that. They are marked by the Manufacturer or retailer A. Collin Paris,<br>which seemed to be a retailer and/or manufacturer of Medical/pharmaceutical<br>equipment in the third quarter of the 19th century. Likely from a UT Professor's estate but I really can't<br>remember where I acquired it as I sometimes acquire more in a week than many<br>normal people do in a lifetime. My lovely wife helped my clean my old photo room<br>and it got mixed in with tons of other jewelry. It is 15/16" wide with a .75"<br>gap and it isn't flexible, so it seems like it would have had to have been put<br>on a child. I know many cultures wore bronze jewelry, African and Viking of<br>course being the first to come to mind, I'm just not really sure. and I don't<br>know whether it's 250 years old or 2500 years old, but would bet it's in that<br>range. 11 Hawkes Eardley 8.25" Salad Plates with no cracks, chips, restorations, and minimal wear. Very high quality American crystal that rings like a bell.Thomas Gibbons Hawkes, born in County Cork, Ireland in 1846 to a prominent family with a glassworking heritage, emigrated to the United States in 1863. His career began as a foreman for glass factory Hoare and Daily in Brooklyn, New York moving with the company to Corning, New York in 1868.Once in Corning, he soon opened his own cutting shop which was incorporated as T.G. Hawkes & Company in 1890. This on the heels of success the year before when Hawkes famously won acclaim and Grand Prize at the Universal Exposition in Paris.Thomas Gibbons Hawkes European taste for sparkling cut glass at this time was emulated in the United States in what was called the Brilliant Cut Glass Period. c1830 Chinese Blue and White Porcelain Canton Helmet creamer and Sugar bowl. Both pieces from first half of 19th century, likely grouped together at one point as one could easily be 20-30 years older than the other. Sugar is very clean with slightest glaze wear on handles, no cracks, chips, or restorations, creamer has a professional restoration to the handle and some tiny flakes on the top rim, no other chips, cracks, or restorations. I'm pricing this for what I've seen this sugar bring by itself and basically giving you the wonderful creamer. TW248

25" Qianlong Chinese Export to Dutch market clobbered urn. 40-50 year old label<br>to the underside reads as follows: C. R. Fenton & Co. Ltd. Beachy Road, Old<br>Ford, E3 Gundry, an English antique shipper mentioned by noted Manhattan and Sag<br>Harbor antique dealer J. Garvin Mecking in his Guide to London's Best Shops.<br><br>25" tall with lid x 12" wide, large and wonderful. In the 18th century, there<br>was a high demand for polychrome wares because Imari had become very popular.<br>Blue and white Chinese porcelain was sent to the Netherlands and England to be<br>over-painted. Once there, the porcelain was repainted and then refired and the<br>colors became permanent. The original blue and white designs are still under the<br>enamel.<br>No cracks, chips, or restorations, some expected wear to gilding and enamel.

Mid Century Modern Marquetry plaque with Kings holding goblets. This is really fabulous, estate fresh period MCM from the 60's or 70's. Likely one of a kind, no identifying marks that I could find. One small blemish in queen to the right's neck, looks like an adams apple. 21.75" x 12.75"I'm fairly confident this was originally a drink tray due to the size/subject matter. But judging from the patina of the hooks and wire on the back in the 70's or even 60's they decided they wanted to look at it rather than spill drinks all over it. And while there are trays from this era with a more intricate design this is by far the coolest one I've seen.This is showing up really orange on my other monitor, It's not orange, it's "regular" wood colors. More typical colors, not pumpkin orange.

c1790 Pewter Coffee Urn with First Prize at Los Angeles County Fair Ribbon. Great piece from the 18th to every early 19th century. Small fractures towards top rim on right side, a few expected dents. I could find no identifying marks. Making this particularly important is this ribbon that was fixed to the top of the lid where it won first prize at the Los Angeles county fair in probably the 1920's-50's. I could find no date on the ribbon it's obviously very old and from a much simpler time than we live in today. Selling the pot and the ribbon it won. Pot is 16" tall.This piece and ribbon it won really takes me back to such a pleasant time in my mind. A time of different societal values. isshelf

c1860 Austin Texas Portrait of a Stern young woman. Very interesting large<br>portrait of a interesting looking young Austin woman that likely went on to do<br>many great things. I acquired this from a long term Austin estate seller's<br>private collection, they assured me she was from an important Austin family but<br>didn't seem to know which one. So there's likely a street and a school named<br>after her and her family. Important or not I think she's great. I'm 100%<br>positive this is a 19th century painting that has obviously been reframed within<br>the last 30 years. Appears to be an oil on board, 29.5" x 23.5" framed 19.75" x<br>24.5" sight. Fantastic 19th century Southern American portrait with no<br>significant issues. I have not examined this out of the frame, they did such a<br>good clean job framing it up that I just hate to tear off the back and<br>disrespect their work, though I am curious as there is no detectable signature<br>on the front.

Great<br>box.<br><br>Decorated Opal ware was at the height of its popularity from 1890 to 1910, and<br>the C. F. Monroe Company was one of the largest producers of this type glass.<br>Charles F. Monroe opened his shop first shop in 1880; is was located at 36 West<br>Main Street in Meriden, Connecticut and he dealt primarily in imported<br>glassware. By 1882, Monroe was operating his own glass-decorating studio, and<br>was soon employing highly talented local artists as decorators. When the 1890’s<br>arrived and the demand for finely decorated glass was its height, the Monroe<br>company was located in several large buildings on the corner of West Main Street<br>and Capitol Avenue, and employed such fine artists as Carl V. Helmschmied,<br>Walter Nilson, J.J. Knoblauch, Joseph Hickish, Carl Puffee, Flora Fiest, Gustave<br>Reinman, Florence Knoblauch, Emil Melchior, and Alma Wenk, Blanche Duval, Gussie<br>Stremlan, Elizabeth Zeibart, and Elizabeth Casey, The decorators often went back<br>and forth between the G934C Wavecrest Jewelry Box – Helmschmid Swirlcompanies,<br>and sometimes poses a problem of attribution. As is always, the case, public<br>tastes changed, and the demand for decorated Opal Ware began to decline after<br>1910. The C.F. Monroe Company went out of business in 1916. –<br>tw243

c1900 Hand Painted Limoges Punch bowl w/ Stand. Great piece guaranteed over 100<br>years old, estate fresh. The bowl and the base appear to have been painted by<br>the same person, the Base was made by Delinieres & Co. It measures 10 1/8" toe<br>to toe x 3" tall x 6.5" inside the ring that keeps the bowl from slipping off.<br>The bowl was made by Tressemann and Vogt, it's 12.5" wide x 5.25" tall. No<br>cracks, chips, or restorations on either piece, very minimal wear to gilding,<br>some expected wear on the part of the base that the bowl rests on. It was not<br>uncommon for porcelain decorating studios to order from multiple companies and I<br>feel these two pieces have been together for 99.9% of their lives since they<br>were decorated sometime between 1891-1910.
