Fleisch didn't do a lot of portraits, I've only seen s few others. One of which<br>brought $6100 on eBay in 2013. This piece is estate fresh, has never been<br>offered anywhere until now since it was purchased from the artist.<br><br>Frame measures 31"x 19", it's the original frame Made in Italy with 78061<br>sticker on it coinciding with the number on the back of the painting. Canvas is<br>24" x 12". Both the painting and the frame are flawless. This is one of his<br>earlier works c.1970's, also one of his better works in my opinion. Lisa D'Agostino 18k/Sterling modernist earrings 10-11mm square, high quality<br>workmanship and design. No backs included, no other issues. 5.2 grams.For Lisa,<br>working with her hands has been the only thing that has ever really interested<br>her. Her curiosity about the potential for designing and creating with metal has<br>lasted since 1980. That year she participated in her first art fair. The shows<br>were local at first, but gradually developed into national venues that included<br>galleries as well. Except for an additional 12-year foray into baskets (see "The<br>Basketmaker's Art", Lark Publications) her focus has been on jewelry.The designs<br>have evolved over the years but the inspirations have remained the same. Lisa's<br>pieces are informed by geometry and architecture but tempered by the poetic and<br>philosophical aspects presented by astronomy. She ponders a phrase from an old<br>sixties song... "we are stardust - billion year old carbon."The work begins with<br>a loose drawing until a new solution or idea presents itself. It is a balance<br>between intention/chance and spontaneity/deliberation. The contours and forms<br>are simple at first. She likes the rigor and order of basic geometric shapes but<br>then organizing them into something more complex. Shapes are cut out of sterling<br>silver and formed or scored and soldered together. Other parts are distorted<br>through the rolling mill. Surfaces are textured with files or hammers or fused<br>with silver dust or 18K yellow gold. Many techniques may be incorporated into<br>one piece using a variety of hand tools, some of which are her oldest<br>buddies.The final steps involve patination of the piece, and then selectively<br>removing some of the patina to leave combinations of matte or polished surface<br>areas. Earthy rough stones and lustrous pearls are used to further enhance the<br>piece.Lisa was formally introduced to art at college. She earned a Bachelor of<br>Fine Arts degree at Bowling Green State University in 1977, but never really<br>learned to solder well until she was able to work in her own studio. She went<br>back to school, and after 3 years she earned a Master of Fine Arts degree from<br>the University of Kansas in 1991. 1920's 14" Wachenheimer Art Deco Sterling and blue jasper choker. 14" long x .75" wide x 29.2 grams with no apparent issues. The first Wachenheimer factory was located in downtown Providence and had 18 employees. Harry ran the operations, and Jacob and Samuel remained in New York with responsibility for sales. By 1908, the company employed about 30 workers and moved to the fourth floor of 36 Garnet Street, in the jewelry-manufacturing district of the city. Late in 1919, the brothers incorporated the firm along with John R. Rosenfeld, a Providence lawyer who had been associated with gemstone dealers earlier in his career. By the following year, Wachenheimer Brothers had grown to 76 employees, had opened a showroom at 303 Fifth Avenue in New York City, and had registered several patents and trademarks. They ceased operation around 1934 due to the Depression.

These unique bottles contained<br>shampoos, hair tonics and facial splashes. The barber could purchase a large<br>quaintly of a product or make up his own recipe and refill his bottles. There<br>were many styles and shapes of these bottles. A large variety of colors,<br>enameled floral decorations and unique designs made these bottles very eye<br>appealing while setting on the shelf. The famous artist Mary Gregory with her<br>enameled scenes of small children are very popular today with collectors.<br>Pressed and cut glass examples were available along with opaque personalized<br>bottles in demand also. The personalized bottles would have the barbers name or<br>a very good clients name on it with some kind of a design or picture painted on<br>it. There were also applied label bottles. This was a thin layer of glass<br>covering the label. Many of the earliest bottles were hand blown with a pontil<br>base and a applied or sheared lip. These bottles were manufactured in the United<br>States and imported from Europe. Most of the fancy styles bottles were not<br>embossed but there are a few exceptions. The T Noonan & Co. Barber Supplies<br>Boston, Mass. embossed there name on the base of some of there bottles. Barber<br>bottles were in high demand between 1880s thru the early 1900s. In 1906 the Pure<br>Food and Drug act of 1906 restricted the use of alcohol based substances in<br>unlabeled and refillable containers. This made these bottles no longer used for<br>there original purpose. The demand slowed down but they were still being made<br>till the 1920s.

1960's California Artist Paul E. Killinger (1927-1996) turned Brazilian mahogany<br>wood bowl with Lid Mid Century Modern. He came from PA Originally to southern<br>California. He was included in the craft show at the Pasadena Art Museum in 1965<br>that was titled California Design 9 that was a who's who of design, including<br>Evelyn Ackerman, Paul Soldner, the Natzlers, Sam Maloof, and many more. He had 3<br>wood bowls in the show. His address in Ca. was 5104 Valencia Dr. Orange. He was<br>a contemporary of Paul Eshelman, the famous bowl turner from Pa. whose bowls are<br>about $1000. Fritz White(1930-2010) Native American holding Buffalo Bronze. 17"h, 8"w,<br>6.75"d, 10.5 lbs signed in cast Fritz White (American, 1930-2010), numbered 22/<br>225, C/A Cowboy Artists of America stamp.Fritz White was best known throughout<br>the world for his distinctive style of bronze sculpture, and for being a key<br>player in turning Loveland into the well-known sculpture community it is<br>today.He was born January 14, 1930 in Milford, Ohio to Denver and Geneva<br>(Hatfield) White. By the time he was 12, his father had enrolled him in an adult<br>art class in a college in Cincinnati. “The war was going on and those small<br>colleges needed all the students they could get, so they agreed to take me. I<br>got a lot of special attention from the teachers. It was great,” he<br>recalled.After graduating from Terrace Park High School in Cincinnati in 1948,<br>Fritz played semi-pro football. Carrying those lessons forward, he later coached<br>junior high football and was fondly known as Coach Whitey.Fritz proudly served<br>in the U.S. Marine Corp. from 1948 to 1953 as Sergeant of a rifle platoon and<br>later as a Gunny. Following his service, Fritz launched Fancy Lettering, a<br>design studio for sales publications, and subsequently took a position with<br>National Underwriter Company. On a whim in 1961, he loaded up his car with large<br>chunks of marble from Marble, Colorado and thus began his long career in<br>sculpture. Thanks to the support of his dear friend John J. McGraw, Fritz was<br>soon working in clay and bronze.A decade later, in the spring of 1972, Fritz was<br>elected to the prestigious Cowboy Artists of America and became widely accepted<br>as one of the finest sculptors of this century. In addition to winning several<br>CAA awards for excellence (including the only sculptor to win the Colt Award),<br>he served as board member, vice president and president. The small sculpture, one of many created by<br>Madsen at the height of a prolific artistic career, reminds him of his inner<br>strength and gives him courage to begin a new life. Known for his tightly<br>detailed bronzes depicting the American Indian and the cowboy, Madsen had<br>enjoyed measurable success in his field. An established and recognized artist<br>since 1986, he had received numerous awards. The Westinghouse Corp., the New<br>York Stock Exchange, Robert Duvall and Iron Eyes Cody purchased his work. The<br>Gene Autry Museum of Western Heritage put a collection of his bronzes on<br>permanent display. Madsen had nowhere to go but into the ranks of renowned<br>American artists. Then one day in May 1993, an accident completely altered the<br>life Madsen had so meticulously crafted. While enjoying his other great passion,<br>participating in a Western riding competition, the artist was thrown from his<br>horse. He sustained severe head trauma and brain damage. He fell into a deep,<br>three-month coma. Madsen awoke to begin a journey on a new trail, teaching his<br>body to move again. Modest movement in his left leg signaled the onset of his<br>recovery. The artist also uttered his first words since the accident. During a<br>nine-month hospital stay, followed by seven months in a transitional home<br>setting, Madsen started his remarkable re-education process. ``I'm being born<br>again,'' Madsen said, laughing as he recalled his first tremulous attempts to<br>write his ABCs. The sculptor admired for intricate human anatomical application<br>in his bronze figures had to relearn his own body parts. ``When he first began<br>to draw figures, he would leave off a right arm,'' said his wife, Vicki. She<br>said his drawings reflected his reality. He had to become reacquainted with his<br>right side before he could draw a right side. ``The first sign of artwork came<br>in 1996,'' said Vicki Madsen. For months, she had attempted to coax the artist<br>back to work. Each time she presented him with clay, he responded, ``I can't do<br>this right now.'' Then, one September day, a collection of artist friends paid<br>Madsen a visit. Talking about sculpting stirred something inside him. Someone<br>presented Madsen with a small piece of clay. He squeezed it and responded with a<br>huge smile. There is an ironic twist to the Peter Madsen story. Prior to his<br>injury, the artist had been sculpting the figure of a cowboy being thrown from<br>his horse. Four years later, Madsen has returned to work on the piece by way of<br>surrogate sculptor, Jean Cherie. ``He has the eyes and the vision. Jean Cherie<br>is his hands,'' said Vicki. ``Prophesy Fulfilled,'' like the emerging artist, is<br>a work in progress. Once solely dedicated to his realistic bronze work, Madsen<br>now finds creative expression in a more free-form bas-relief style of sculpture,<br>charcoal sketches and computer graphics. His computer generated designs will<br>soon grace greeting cards. Close friend and personal attendant, Patrick Grant,<br>saw the work turned out by Madsen and suggested ``Greetings from Eagle Vision.''<br>Postcards featuring photos of Madsen's bronzes will complement the collection.<br>Seldom is heard a discouraging word from this cowboy artist who pledges to make<br>his own way in life. Back in the saddle again, he is rebuilding weak muscles<br>through a structured therapeutic horseback riding program.
